New Moon in Aquarius
Happy Chinese New Year of the Tiger February 14, 2010 |
|
Hi Friends - Happy Chinese New Year! Welcome to the Year of the Tiger! The Chinese Lunar New Year just happens to fall on Valentines Day this year, which adds a sweet flavor to this moment of bursting forth with new life in our journey out of winter.
The Chinese New Year marks another ascending spiral of the evolving new beginning of 2010, which continues through a series of 'rolling openings.' First we had Winter Solstice (Dec 21) then the Gregorian Sirius New Year (Jan 1)then the Imbolc/Solar/9-Star-Ki New Year (Feb 4) and now the Lunar New Year (Feb 14). These moments are leading to the True New Begining of Spring Equinox (Mar 20). We are also still in the 'strategic planning' phase of Mars Retrograde. Once we hit March 20, energies will move faster, careening forward through the dynamic change of the Year of the Tiger. See below for some thoughts on the New Moon in Aquarius (which marks the Chinese New Year) and also on the Year of the Tiger. This New Moon puts an indelible stamp on 2010.
Keep in mind that the current Astronology Consult Special continues through March 31, 2010 - a full phone consult is only $88.25, and a CD-only consult is $65.00. Click here for details: http://bit.ly/auhUlG
Gung Hei Fat Choy! (Congratulations and Be Prosperous!)

New Moon in Aquarius
Dancing with Duality
Saturday February 13, 2010 @ 9:51pm EST
She lives on Love Street / Lingers long on Love Street / She has a house and garden / I would like to see what happens. / She has wisdom and knows what to do / She has me and she has you. / I guess I like it fine, so far. - Love Street, The Doors
This New Moon occurs smack dab in the middle of Valentines Day weekend. The astrology of the New Moon corresponds delightfully with the theme of love and romance. The New Moon is joined with the planets Neptune and Venus, and the asteroid Chiron. Jupiter is nearby. This adds up to lots of dreamy love, gooey sweetness and the healing powers of love. Enjoy!
The new moon chart is quite remarkable. The major theme I see is the balacing of polarities. Of course, balancing polarities is one of the prime jobs for humanity. Take a look around: could the world BE any more polarized? The United States especially. Nearly all of our problems stem from humans clinging only to one side of inherent duality.
The opposites will be even more fierce in our faces this year. We have to learn to deal with them. They are not going away. Last year we didn't much pass the test: most of us stood on one end of the spectrum in a fixed manner. This year we must learn to dance between them.
Co-mingling with this New Moon/Lunar New Year - Feb 12 was the Hindu festival of Lord Shiva. As a deity, Shiva embodies this Hindu idea of not only holding, but actually embracing seemingly opposing themes. http://bit.ly/aBawCc
There is a Double Yod Key - too yods interlocked - in this chart, which only further validates the theme. The Double Yod Key has a very dynamic nature - a "flickering focus". It's like someone with a gun says DANCE and your feet move fast to avoid the darting bullets. A single yod involves dancing between two energies that don't speak the same language - apples and oranges. Two yods invlove dancing between FOUR energies: apples, oranges, kiwi and pomegranate. This is a supreme challenge and ramps up the duality issue to a new level.
In this case, the four energies are Mars/Venus (masc/fem); and Saturn/Pluto (time/death). These energies combine with each other, but they also swap partners (so to speak). First we have: war and peace; time and death; peace and death, time and war. Then we have Venus squeezed into Pluto, and Mars squeezed into Saturn producing: Kundalini and a War on Time. The earth's Kundalini is awakening, and soon 'time' (the Gregorian Banking Calendar) will end - i.e. we will be set free from a purely materialistic world.
In addition, the combination of Venus/Pluto holds the energy of Kali, a fierce goddess of creation/destruction (just like Shiva). This is the TIGER i.e. TIGRESS energy - the KALI DURGA.
The two solution points of the Yod are: Mercury in Aquarius and Vesta at Zero Degrees Virgo. VESTA is especially powerful as this asteroid is at at its brightest, magnitude 6.1. And on the day of the New Moon "Vesta forms a "double star" with the 7th-magnitude star HD 89930. The pair changes orientation dramatically each hour as Vesta moves. They're within about 1 arcminute of each other when seen before dawn from North America."
Vesta at the combustible Zero Degree emerges with gusto in this prominent shining position. Usually a very quiet humble energy of hearth/home, the keeper of the flame, the priestess in service of the sacred work, here Vesta says:(in keeping with the Tiger) I am woman hear me roar. Stop destroying the fabric of humanity, the sacred (h)earth.
Mercury in Aquarius is brilliant mental energy - a mind filled with thoughts of revolution. Aquarius is off-planet, machine, metal (like the Metal Tiger), even artificial intelligence. Vesta in Virgo is profoundly EARTHY. How to merge these two? A Lightning Bolt of Change into the Hearth. An earthy pregnant android AI being. Talk about opposites.
Alex Grey's image of a pregnant woman merged with her male consort comes to mind. Here we see human flesh and the earthiness of pregnancy merged with the 'machine-like' body systems that comprise the human form. Click here or see below for this amazing image.
To Solve this chart: Brilliant revolutionary Guardians of the sacred work must emerge and use technology to change the game.
The Lightning Bolt shakes us up at our core. This New Moon has a lot of 'destruction' energy. Things gotta change, one way or the other in order to achieve LIberation from Duality. Get unstuck from the extreme. Join Shiva's dance.

The 10's Begin with a Roar
The Year of the Tiger White Hot Metal
It is the space between the bars that holds the tiger. @SpiritualShow A tiger catches a mouse with his whole strength. Tatsugami Roshi THE TIGER SPEAKS: I am the delightful Paradox. All the world is my stage. I set new trails ablaze, I seek the unattainable, and try the untried. I dance to life's music in gay abandon. Come with me on my carousel rides. See the myriad of colors, the flickering lights. All hail me the unparalleled performer. I AM THE TIGER. - Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes, Theodora Lau
Each year, Chinese New Year begins on the second New Moon after Winter Solstice. And so, The 2010 Year of the Tiger begins on February 13, 2010 at 9:51 PM EST. Time to Roar, kids. This will be a year of dynamic, dramatic change energy. "Tempers could flare, and our wildest dreams can come true. The volume is turned up to a roar and life moves on a grand scale. Expect massive social change, political rebellion, and military coups all over the world." - Susan Levitt, 'Taoist Astrology'
This is in keeping with the astrology of this year, as we have a bold configuration forming this summer, called The Cardinal Cross.
Don't be timid this year: No matter how many obstacles lie in her path, the Tigress will courageously pursue her goals. Despite her roar, underneath her fur Tiger is sensitive and emotional. She demands much attention, but when given enough love and support can turn into a gentle pussy cat.
Are you a Tigress? The Tiger years are: 1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010. The last Metal Tiger year was 1950. (To find out your chinese animal, click here)
2010 is the year of the Metal Tiger. Metal is one of the five Taoist elements metal, water, wood, fire, and earth. Metal's color is white. Metal corresponds well with the Aquarian technological, machine, AI energy of the new moon chart.
According to legend, Tigers live 1,000 years. Half way through life at age five hundred, they turn white. Tigers scare off thieves, ghosts, and fires. Tiger is a powerful animal totem to contact in the shamanic realm to assist in banishments and purifications.
Even if you feel more like Tony the Tiger than the fierce Kali Durga, seize the celestial wind at your back this year: dare to change things up. Say yes to evolution. Lean into it.

Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose
In keeping with the Lovey Dovey Valentine vibe, think about the healing qualities of Love: Love is a Fire that can melt the iciest of hearts. It is a lightning bolt that can bring positive change to even the most corrupt systems. Looking ahead to Valentines Day, why not give yourself or someone you love a rose today to bring more Love into your life?
The ROSE is a powerful healer for those who are "sick at heart," grief-stricken, or lack self-esteem. Rose oil or incense is a good remedy; but if at all possible bring real roses into your home, they are a balm to your Soul. There is a reason why people send flowers, and especially roses, to those who are ill or grieving - the flowers themselves help us to heal. Roses in particular are a very high vibration and emit a powerful healing energy to all in their presence.

Roses have FIVE petals with the exception of Rosa sericea which often has only four. The numberFIVE is associated with the Planet of Love - VENUS - and is also associated with creating CHANGE in your life.
Red rose means love. Pink rose means grace or lesser feelings of love. Dark Pink rose means gratitude. Light Pink rose means admiration or sympathy. White rose means innocence, purity or friendship. Yellow rose means dying love or platonic love. Yellow with red tips rose means Friendship or falling in love. Orange rose means passion. Burgundy rose means beauty. Blue rose means mystery. Green rose means calm. Black rose means slavish devotion. Purple rose means protection.
