Ved Prakash Bhamba, Passenger on a Dehli Eclipse Flight - determined to be the best vantage point to see the full eclipse over India: "We were looking down at the sun. As the moon moved to cover the sun, its shadow was casting darkness on the earth. When it completely covered the sun, there was total darkness. The atmosphere changed... it was like an impending storm. The clouds also turned black. The spectacle was incredible."
Sadhus, or Hindu holy men, watched the solar eclipse through specially-designed viewing glasses in Allahabad, India. Thousands of Hindu devotees bathed in the Ganges in the Indian town of Varanasi to cleanse their sins as the moon threw the area into darkness for three minutes, 48 seconds
At a Buddhist temple in the Thai capital Bangkok, dozens of monks led a mass prayer at a Buddhist temple to ward off what they said would be ill effects from the eclipse. In addition, here is a delightful photo of several Buddhist monks enjoying the celestial light (and dark) show.
Many viewing the eclipse in China did not see the full spectacle, due to widespread cloud cover, rain and smog. But this disappointment actually led to some unusual and exhilarating permutations of eclipse incarnations. Things like Monsoon Eclipses, Eclipses in the Rain, and Rainbow Eclipses.
From a metaphysical perspective, Cloud Cover can be a good thing because it might symbolize a lessening of the intensity of the Change...
A DAY WITHIN A DAY: Metaphysically, the length of the winking out of the sun in any Total Solar Eclipse means that we experience a full 24-hour day during that time. So on July 22nd we experienced a full 24-hour day in 6 minutes 39 seconds. A full 24-hour day injected into a 24-hour day. A time-compression chamber. On July 22, 2009 from 10:35pm to 10:41pm EDT you experienced a time warp during those 6.39 mystical minutes of totality.
The July 22nd TSE stared us down for nearly 7 minutes (nearly the longest stare the Sun can physically sustain in any eclipse). AND it stared at us right down the exact middle of the Earth, cutting a swath of shadow through some of the most densely populated human cities. It seared the Earth in half, cracking it open with its pressure.
What you seed now will reverberate forward in time through November 2013 and on through August 2, 2027 - 18 years from now. Add 20 years to your current age. Where do you want to be at that time? When we say eclipses have far-reaching influence, we mean it.
The Aquarian/Leo eclipse theme is ending now (between August and December 2009). Whatever destiny there is yet to see, whatever shadows have yet to emerge, need to be resolved during these eclipses or wait at least 9, perhaps 18 years until the theme returns.
Within the first 20 minutes after touching down on the Earth's surface, the shadow footprint (of the July 22nd TSE) traveled over 1.5 miles per second and swept northeast across central India, the southeast portion of the Hindu kingdom of Nepal... and central Tibet en route to China.
As the Total Solar Eclipse sweeps across the surface of the Earth like a blacklight torch, the Eye of God is reading information, making contact with earth and with global human consciousness
THE THIRD PILLAR IS WHERE WE MOVE THE ENERGY in our meditations and visualizations. This is the pupil of the Eye of God where we can send and receive energy. Allow this to inform your meditation practice during the Summer of 2009. (Diagram of the 3 Pillars and the Eye of God are included in both e-books)
The Time Between Eclipses: in this time-of-no-time between eclipses, ask yourself:Who else could I be? What else could I do? This is a time of reconfiguration. You are the snake shedding the skin of its former self.
The days around the August 5th Full Moon (minor) Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius would be a great time for a Vision Quest, whether formal or informal.
