Mitzvah of the Month!

Lashon Hara Don't speak badly of others!
Mitzvot are commandments, rules and guidance for us to live a full, enriching life. There are 613 mitzvot in the Torah, and each month we will feature a mitzvah that will enrich your JORI experience.
As we think about the many ways to avoid speaking badly of others, or gossiping, I want to remind you of the ability to hurt someone without spoken words, but through social networking like facebook messages, text messages, or other electronic communications. Please remember that once the words are on one message board, it is no longer a private thought! Please help me to extend the JORI summer experience into a year-round experience by thinking carefully of how we treat one another!
