United Way Chief Accepts New Position
|
Bryan, Ohio - August 12, 2010 -
Chris Malanga, the Chief Executive Officer of United Way of
Williams County, has accepted a position at the Fountain City Christian School
in Bryan.
Mr.
Malanga began his position as CEO in 2005. Under his leadership the agency has grown to exemplify the "Live
United" concept and encouraged people to "Give Advocate and Volunteer."
"I have
thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent at the United Way of Williams County,"
said Mr. Malanga. "I have had the
chance to work with so many fine people and saw first-hand when we work
together, we can truly impact the lives of so many."
During Mr.
Malanga's five-year tenure, more than $1.8 million was raised for local health
and human services. In addition to
fund raising to support the member agencies, Malanga also recognized the importance of developing
programs to help enhance the quality of life within Williams County.
Two such
programs are the Ohio Benefit Bank which provides free tax return preparation
and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library which provides free books to pre-school
children.
Residents can learn more about United Way and these programs by visiting www.unitedwaywc.org.
The
Board of Trustees for the United Way of Williams County appreciates Chris'
passion for the United Way, and the leadership he has given. Chris' hard work has not gone
unnoticed. In fact, it is likely
what drew attention to him for his newest opportunity.
Although
the United Way CEO is changing, the direction will continue. The kickoff of the 2010 campaign is
approaching, and we continue to "Live United."
