United Way reaches 35% of goal

Bryan, Ohio - November 13, 2009 - United Way of Williams County has achieved two milestones on its journey to the $330,000 goal.
United Way crossed the $100,000 mark earlier this week, and also hit the one-third mark. Since the drive began in September, the local United Way has received pledges and gifts totaling $114,985 or 35% of goal. This is slightly behind the amount raised at the same time last year.
"We are excited," said Tom and Dee Balser, Campaign 2009 Chairs. "It is really cool to reach 35% of our goal. We encourage everyone to keep up the good work and keep giving generously to the campaign."
Companies reporting results in the past two weeks include:
- Winzeler Stamping, with corporate and employee pledges totaling $7,602;
- Potter, Inc., with corporate and employee pledges totaling $5,338;
- Allied Moulded Products, with employee giving of $1,848;
- The Edon State Bank, with corporate and employee pledges of $1,197;
- Huntington Bank, with employee pledges of $1,194; and
- Edgerton Forge with $715 in employee giving.
Additionally, the United Way received gifts of $750 from the Newlyn Quest Club and $500 from the Claire Newcomer Club.
In addition to those results which have been reported to the United Way office thus far, there are numerous other corporate campaigns currently underway. The organization hopes to have those campaigns wrapped up in the next few weeks.
"We thank those who have already given to the appeal," said Chris Malanga, Chief Executive Officer. "If you haven't yet made your contribution, please do so soon. There is a great need out there, and it is only with your help that we are able to make a difference."
