United Way crosses $50,000 mark
Bryan, Ohio - October 24, 2008 - The United Way of Williams County has exceeded the $50,000 mark and is currently at 15% of its $375,000 fund-raising goal, officials announced Friday.

"We are so happy to have reached the $50,000 milestone," said Chris Malanga, Chief Executive Officer.  "But, we have a long, tough process ahead of us."

Malanga noted that fund-raising efforts at many local companies are now underway, and expects corporate results to begin coming into the office next week.

"We are also working to spread our base of contributors," stated Malanga.  "In this tough economy, it is important that everyone pitch in, especially those who have never given before."

Dollars raised in the 2008 Campaign will benefit the 32 partner agencies of the United Way of Williams County.  Agencies are reporting an increased demand for services due to the softness of the economy.
