United Way to Distribute Sports Equipment
Organization collected 162 pieces of equipment this fall

Bryan, Ohio - November 20, 2007 -
On Saturday, December 1, the United Way of Williams County will be distributing the gently-used sporting equipment collected through the "Let Me Play" fund this fall.

"Thanks to the generosity of so many in our community, we collected 162 pieces of equipment through our drive," said Heather Teegarden, chair of the United Way's Program Committee, which oversees the "Let Me Play" fund.

The giveaway will be held at three locations.  In Edgerton, equipment will be distributed at 104 Indiana Street (around the corner from Rita's).  In Montpelier, the giveaway will take place in the Miller's New Market parking lot.  And in Bryan, the Northwest Ohio Job Center at 228 S. Main Street will hold the giveaway.  However, these locations aren't just for the locals, anyone is welcome to come regardless of their hometown.

The giveaway will take place at all three locations from 9:00 AM until noon. A first come, first serve policy is in order, since a limited number of equipment is available.  While no proof of income is necessary, we ask that only those in need come.

The United Way "Let Me Play" fund was established in 2003 to provide opportunities for Williams County children to participate in sports and other recreational activities.  For more information on the program or to make an application, please visit the United Way web site at www.unitedwaywc.org or contact the Williams County YMCA at 419-636-6185.
