United Way reaches 93 percent of goal!

Results from Campaign 2006 continue to roll in this week. We received results from Bryan Ford Lincoln Mercury, Winzeler Stamping, Plastech, Williams County employees, and others. Campaign total-to-date amounts to $326,508 or 93.3 percent of our $350,000 goal.

Leadership giving for this campaign amounts to $132,832 or 88.5% of our leadership goal. Co-chairs Tom Herman and George Brown are working to secure the outstanding gifts.

We're looking for that company that will put us over the top for Campaign 2006! Could you be that company? Make sure your company totals are returned to the United Way office as soon as possible so we can reach our goal.

If you haven't run your campaign yet, it's not too late to start! Contact the United Way to find out how.

Greetings!

Welcome to the final issue of As The Thermometer Rises for calendar year 2006. We're getting close to our goal, so read on to catch up with all the news from the past two weeks.

  • The move is complete - now we're unpacking!
  • Well, this week has been a very busy one for us here at the United Way. We were busy packing and moving to our new office within the One Stop Center. Now, all of our "stuff" is moved... we're just trying to get all unpacked.

Our new office is in the southwest corner of the One Stop Center at 228 S. Main St., Bryan. We're still in the same building, just a much larger location. We have switched locations with the WEDCO office. This will provide us with more room for our United Way to better serve the needs of our community

Feel free to stop out and say hello (or drop off campaign results - hint, hint!). We will be closed on New Year's Day, but will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd at 9:00 a.m.

  • Time's running out for a 2006 tax deduction!
  • If you'd like your United Way contribution to be tax-deductible for your 2006 taxes, you need to hurry! Send a check (dated by December 31, 2006) to the United Way at P.O. Box 525, Bryan, OH 43506. Or drop one off by 4:00 PM on January 3rd and we will credit it to the 2006 tax year.

Contact us at 419-636-8603 if you have questions about United Way. Contact your tax adviser for questions relating to the IRS regulations and deductions.

  • Get your results in ASAP!
  • It's very important that companies with results outstanding get them in to us ASAP! There are two reasons for this.

First and foremost, payroll deduction pledges made during Campaign 2006 are withheld starting with the first paycheck of 2007. If the payroll office and United Way don't have your results, there is a chance we will not receive the entire amount the donor wishes to give.

Also, we have scheduled our Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon for February 13, 2007 (save that date!). We will need to begin calculating campaign awards very soon, so it is important that we have all results so that every company may be considered for an award.

Help us close the book on Campaign 2006, drop your campaign results off at our office (228 S. Main), mail them to P.O. Box 525, Bryan or call us at 419-636-8603 for a pickup. Thanks, in advance, for your help!

  • Winzeler Stamping raises $8,650 for United Way!
  • Employees of Winzeler Stamping generated $7,150 in payroll deduction pledges to United Way's Campaign 2006.

Coordinator Karen Beck utilized employee meetings with United Way and agency speakers to help raise awareness of the United Way. Employees were also entered in a raffle drawing if they contributed a certain dollar amount to United Way.

Winzeler Stamping also made a corporate gift of $1,500, bringing their grand total to $8,650. Thanks to all of the employees of Winzeler Stamping for their generosity!

  • Bryan Ford Lincoln Mercury raises $5,032.
  • Employees of Bryan Ford Lincoln Mercury generated $2,932 in payroll deduction pledges to Campaign 2006. In addition, the company made a corporate gift of $2,100.

Bryan Ford Lincoln Mercury and owner Chip Wood have always been friends to the United Way and we thank them for continuing their fine tradition of giving to the United Way!

  • Plastech employees pledge $3,278
  • The employees of Plastech have had a very difficult year. They've had to deal with the proposed closing of their plant. By working together, they were able to keep the plant open and a part of the Williams County community.

With all the adversity they faced, employees at Plastech contributed $3,278 to the United Way appeal. Although this was down from last year, we are so thankful that United Way giving was continued this year. We look forward to Plastech being here for a long time and our relationship continuing to grow.

    Thanks to all who contributed!
