Greetings!

Welcome to the first installment of "As the Thermometer Rises" which is the United Way of Williams County's newsletter to update volunteers on the progress of Campaign 2006. We hope you enjoy keeping up-to-date on all of the Campaign 2006 news and information. Please contact the United Way office at 419-636-8603 if you need anything!

Campaign 2006 Progress

United Way is currently at 5% of goal!

Bill Pepple and I have been busy this week doing presentations and other marketing. I spoke to Montpelier Rotary on Monday, Bill and I joined the Bryan Lions club on Tuesday, and I spoke to the Edgerton Rotary Wednesday. Our presentations have been less about asking for money and more of an informative nature... explaining that we do help in the entire county and providing specific examples of how we help in each community. I think they've been well-received.

We also recorded a segment for WDFM TV 26's show "All Around Williams County" which will air in October. Bryan Municipal Utilities is finalizing our United Way "infomercial" to be run in the coming weeks. Radio spots and guests will start next week on WLZZ and WBNO.

Letters went out this week to all previous givers, people who designated to Imagination Library, and Imagination Library parents (2,438 letters). We have already received donations back from these letters. The inserts with pledge card appeared in the Bryan Times, Edgerton Earth, Leader Enterprise, Advance Reporter and Edon Commercial.

Most people have received their in-house campaign materials. There are a few account execs who haven't got theirs and we are trying to catch up with them. There are a few bags and folders that need delivered by our office.

United Way Week is fast approaching!

October 22-28, 2006

United Way is busy planning our second annual United Way Week. We've got lots of events planned, including Donuts on the Way, Rose Day for United Way, a coloring contest, the Breakfast of Champions, airing of the United Way infomercial on BMU TV and so much more.

Please mark your calendars for this exciting week and we'll keep you updated on all the events.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to Campaign 2006! I know with volunteers like you, we will reach our $350,000 goal and help so many of our neighbors-in-need.

See you next week!

Sincerely,
