MOCAH & Boniuk Center for Religious Tolerance

Over the course of two months (January 8- February 26th), 24 students from 15 different schools across Houston are working alongside

The Boniuk Center for Religious Tolerance at Rice University staff and Museum of Cultural Arts Houston (MOCAH) artists to create a mural that answers the question, "What does a religiously and culturally tolerant society look like?"

The mural unveiling will take place on March 3 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is the capstone project for The Boniuk Center's 2nd Annual Sacred Sites Quest (SSQ II), a program for middle and high school students that aims to enhance religious literacy, while promoting interfaith dialogue.  The Queens of Creativity Present
"Queens of Hearts"

The Queens of Creativity will showcase the work of several local artists with a social message on women's heart health and awareness entitled "Queen of Hearts." Embracing their mission to empower other women through their creativity the Queens hope to promote a strong message around Valentine's Day to "Consciously love one another, but never neglect love of self."

The purpose of this exhibit is to bring that focus back to the heart of why  the roles, as women, continue to nurture the ones we love and most importantly, ourselves. Sponsors to include Dr. Reddy and Art Angels. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.

The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on February 16th at The 43rd at Wedge International Tower, 1415 Louisiana, Houston TX 77002.

Women's Summit Texas

We would like to thank everyone that was able to come out and help with the Art Angels Resource Table at the Women's Summit Texas. We really enjoyed everyone's enthusiasm and efforts!

This year's summit was an amazing event, with guest speakers such as Sheila Jackson Lee and powerful discussions of empowerment, health awareness, and community enrichment. The expo provided an opportunity for Art Angels to share information about MOCAH programs while promoting social wellness. In addition, Art Angel volunteers created and dispersed puzzle earrings.
