We Got Ruach Yes We Do!
What a wonderful Ruach (pronounced roo-akh and means spirit) Week! With literally thousands of items donated to numerous causes, fun dress-up theme days, a Camp Aaron Swim-a-Thon, so that kids with cancer can attend Camp, a week long overnight camp experience for 41 Camp Aaron campers at NJY Camps, and an amazing Lip Dub experience, our Camp had one of its most special weeks ever! Each week seems better than the last! Our campers are happy, our counselors are awesome and the activities keep getting cooler!
We hope you are loving Camp and are ready for more to come! We still have 3 Camp shows, another Camp Aaron overnight, another Gesher CIT overnight, a Chaverim extended trip to Virginia, Maccabiah Color War, Phillies Jewish Heritage Night, and even more!
If you would like to extend your stay with us, please contact Pam Parker, Camp Registrar, pparker@jfedsnj.org and she will arrange it! We would love to have you! Have a great weekend, a restful Shabbat, and we'll see you on Monday! Thanks!

FRIENDSHIPS THAT LAST A LIFETIME - AND BENEFIT YOUR CAMP
Have you seen our Friendship Fence at Camp? You can get a silhouette too! Similar to buying an inscribed brick, purchasing a 3 foot high inscribed wooden boy or girl camper silhouette is a unique way to honor your camper, recognize or remember family and friends or commemorate special events. The pieces are linked together, hand-in-hand throughout Camp, giving present and future generations of campers summers of a lifetime. Silhouettes are $100 each and proceeds help support projects at Camp. To access the form, click here http://www.jcccampsatmedford.org/file/donate/Friendship-Fence-Order-Form.pdf |

Hilltop Happenings: Ruach Week!
Rauch Week really brings out the best in our campers and counselors! Our Hilltop campers and families helped make a difference in our community and the world this week with so many generous donations!
Our campers created beautiful windsocks in Arts & Crafts, and decorated them with colorful tissue paper. Our Little Scientists learned what a vortex is by connecting two soda bottles together and creating a vortex. Gan Yeladim created a Hamsa sun catcher representing the spirit of friendship as well as reflecting the sun and wind. Friendship bracelets were assembled at Useable Arts, one for them to keep and the other to trade with a friend in their bunk. Our Hilltoppers were hard at work at Kosher Cooking chopping apples for the filling for delicious, baked apple burekas. Fishy, Fishy Cross My Ocean was a big hit at Backyard Games this week. At Nature, the campers explored critters they found around camp with adorable butterfly magnifying glasses that they made. For the past two weeks the campers have been watching the caterpillars (or larva) transform into chrysalis. Next week we are hoping for butterflies.
On Tuesday, our Anaf/Bayit skate party had a terrific turnout, as parents, siblings, campers and counselors enjoyed a night out skating, playing soccer and socializing. Please join us on Thursday at 7pm at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill for the Camp Hilltop production of "You've Got a Friend in Me". Our little stars have been rehearsing for weeks and are very excited to perform.
Shabbat Shalom! See you next week!

Sizzlin' in Shalom
Camp Shalom is kind-hearted and spirited! The spirit was everywhere around camp as evidenced from our enormously successful Ruach days. We are so proud of our campers for doing such a mitzvah! In Digital Photography this week, our campers took pictures using special cameras, even underwater photos. In Kosher Cooking, we enjoyed making cupcakes that were made during WWII when certain ingredients such as butter and eggs were being rationed. The children then frosted and decorated them. Yummy! In Arts and Crafts, campers made mobiles using CD's and in Mad Science solar balloons were afloat all around. Our final late stay of the season happened with Jerusalem & Tel Aviv getting their turn skating, climbing in the fun zone, and playing soccer at ISC. The campers had a blast!
Our theater participants are hard at work and getting ready for their big night on Monday, August 15th. The show is at the JCC in Cherry Hill on Monday, at 7 pm. Our performers need to be there at 6:00 and the doors will open for seating at 6:45. Please come out to support our hard working actors.
We are looking forward to week 7, Shabbat Shalom!

Amazing in Camp Aaron
Camp Aaron jumped at the chance to show their spirit this week and take part in daily tzedakah projects. From wacky hats to dressing in a sea of red, our campers spirit was evident each day of week 6. The week ended with our first ever Chai Lifeline Swim-a-Thon that raised money for critically ill children to attend Camp Simcha. Friday also featured Lip Dub mania as the entire camp participated in our first ever JCC Camp Lip Dub. It was lots of fun taking part in this camp wide production. Be sure to look for our final project on your favorite social media site!
Our Sleep-a-Week campers had a blast at NJ Y Camps, but wanted to know about everything they're missing at home in Camp Aaron. We are looking forward to having them back so we can hear all about their adventures.
Shabbat Shalom!

Chaverim
Here we go again!
This week we were really on the move, to places such as Blackbeard's Cave, Baltimore Harbor, Splashzone in Wildwood, Dorney Park and the Flyers Skate Zone! Lots of fun! One more week here in NJ (6 Flags, Ocean City, Thundering Surf, Casino Pier and Go Verttical) and then we're off for 4 days to Virginia. What an amazing time we are having! |

Gesher Gab
From pajama day to crazy hat day to showing team spirit for their favorite sports team, Ruach week was of course an eventful one for the CITs. In addition to showing camp spirit, we took an exciting trip to Six Flags Great Adventure. The Bizzaro and Nitro coasters along with massive Kingda Ka, had to wait an extra day for us to go on them but it was well worth it. The CITs couldn't have been more excited for these thrilling rides! Next week, we head back to the shore, this time to Wildwood. We will keep cool at Splash Zone Water Park and get to stroll on the boardwalk. Even though the weeks at camp continue to wind down, the world of CITs is just heating up!
