Brief bio for your review.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I started in
dentistry in 1983 as a dental assistant overseas in
England with the Red Cross. I was a volunteer at the
United States Airforce base in Upper Heyford England.
They were under staffed and offered a great dental
assisting program I could not pass up. I had to
volunteer over 1000 hours to get my certification but
it was well worth it.
That's when I became a dental junkie. That's right, I love dentistry. I had prior business management experience and once back in the states chose that side of dentistry and have never looked back. I have taken numerous small business management and marketing courses at local colleges. I have also attended many seminars on the same subjects and on avoiding malpractice for the dental profession. I have studied and researched human behavior since I was 18. I have learned why we behave the way we do. This is a great asset when working with a dental team. I have over 25 years of management experience to include human resources. In marketing it provides me with a unique perspective that gets results. I am a certified life coach trained to recognize and assist others in uncovering what keeps them stuck. I assist them to move through their blocks so they can move their lives forward and live a life of honor. I also use stress management tools to provide the dental professional with the needed armor to work through those difficult days everyone experiences in a dental practice. My coaching practice is called, Living With Honor. I am also a published writer. I have a regular column on a Canadian online magazine. The column is called Ask Sue. I am the life coach on staff specializing in relationship and communication issues. I also write articles on various topics. You can check out this web site at thesoko.com. I have been published in dental periodicals. Locally, you will find me in the Words to the Wise section in the Arizona Dental Associations Inscriptions magazine. Check out May and June's issues for helpful tips. I have also been doing workshops and trainings in the dental office since 1993. I also volunteered for monthly seminars for Arizona Womens Employment Education for three years. Lastly, many of you already know I volunteer in Phoenix at the CASS homeless shelter dental clinic. I recently finished a customized procedural manual for Dr. Volcheck (the director) so any of their volunteers (dentist, hygienist, assistant, front office) can come into the clinic and find what they need by utilizing this manual. Our new project is offering study groups and workshops for the dentist and his team. The dentist will be offered over the shoulder courses. The dentist and the team will also be offered many practice building workshops. The Money Doctors LLC will be facilitating the practice building workshops. CE credits are available for all courses. Feel free to make suggestions on my web site for a workshop you have found would be helpful for your practice. |

Inexperienced team members will always be your loss.
Inexperienced or untrained team members will always
find it difficult to go with the flow. When procedures
become difficult or patients are difficult it is not easy
for that team member to remain calm and provide you
with the service you need.
They know something is not working but may not be
able to pin point the problem. They may have years
of experience but not the technique and/or the
coping skills needed to ask for what they need from
you or the patient.
If you want to see them thrive in your practice then seek out help. A dental assisting or front office course they can go to can be useful. However, most people learn by doing. Consider hiring someone to come to your practice and spend a day with them in the trenches. You will see a remarkable improvement in no time. Your team member will have the confidence and tools to provide you with the service you need from them. Going with the flow will be a snap for you and your team member. |
