The Value of MENTORSHIP | |
"Throughout our lives we form many special relationships with people that speak to us on very meaningful levels. We navigate through these relationships fulfilling the roles of both speaker and listener, depending upon the situation.
Mentorship is the essence of my daily profession as a Personal Trainer, and I am continuously humbled by the affect I can have on my clients. The definition of Mentor is "a wise and trusted counsellor teacher; an influential senior sponsor or supporter". The Train by Trina mission is to mentor and inspire people to exercise and achieve their fitness goals, while educating them on how to lead a healthy lifestyle through activity. To be in such a position to mentor people in such a way is an honour and a responsibility I do not take lightly!
The flip side of that coin is that mentorship is a reciprocal connection. I have great mentors of my own. My clients are an integral part of the fabric of my identity as a Trainer and they help guide me along my professional path. They are my wise, trusted council! From being a Professional Figure Skater to a Personal Trainer, I have always had a mentoring figure in my life, looking out for my own good and speaking it forth enabling my goals and dreams to become a reality. - Trina Lambe
Recognizing who your mentors are (and who you mentor for) is incredibly enriching for your relationships and how much you can bring to the world around you. :)
