I attended the Peter Pappas workshop at the Valley Ho, and it was the first workshop I have ever attended with a casting director. My son has attended several of Helen McCready's workshops in Las Vegas through Casting Call Entertainment.  Helen and the other casting directors he has worked with, Andy Henry and Susan Putnam, were wonderful!  Although he was the youngest attendee at each of the workshops, (just turned 9) the casting directors had sides appropriate for his age and also gave him the opportunity to interact with adult actors in several different scenarios.  The workshops are a full day event which is a treat.  There is no rushing around-the CD has more of an opportunity to work with the actor on different levels, not just a quick 10 minute read.  The convenience of not having to travel to Los Angeles for Casting Director workshops is priceless and has allowed him to expand his training greatly.

The workshop I attended was both fun and informative!  Erica Silverman explained what it's like to be on the set of a crime drama (Criminal Minds).  All participants were able to give readings and then receive feedback from both Erica and Helen.  I also attended another workshop moderated just by Helen.  It was great because everyone there was able to perform multiple readings and get in-depth feedback from Helen!  I learned a great deal about auditioning from both workshops.
