The ACO Food Pantry

The month of August brought in 215 families needing assistance to feed themselves and their children, with a monthly record 21,134 pounds of food being given out.  Within these families, there were 324 children that received food.

While we are so grateful for all the generous donations from individuals, as well as our partnerships with local grocery stores, many shelves in the Food Pantry are empty.

During the week of September 19, the O'Reilly Group, which owns and operates the 3 Allen McDonald's restaurants will be holding a Feed the Food Pantry food drive to benefit the ACO Food Pantry.  During that week, in exchange for your donation of non-perishable food items, you will receive a coupon for free McDonald's food.  Thank you O'Reilly Group for your support!

If your group would like to do something meaningful to support the ACO Food Pantry, please contact Marjorie Vaneskahian at marjorie@acocares.org

October is Caring Coins Month

Thank you to Lovejoy ISD for their participation in the upcoming ACO Caring Coin Drive.  Beginning on Monday, October 3, and continuing through Monday, October 31, collection containers will be placed in all schools of the district.  Your children are encourage to drop in spare change to make a change for another child.

What a difference it makes when each one of these schools works to make this an easy way for kids to give back and understand the importance of helping others.

Get Up and Give!get up give hands

It's here! Today,
Thursday, September 15 from 7:00am until 7:00pm
, you have the power to make a difference!  Through the Donor Bridge website, any donation of $25 or more to support ACO will receive matching funds.

This is the 3rd Annual Get Up and Give Day sponsored by Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT).  CFT has raised over $700,000 in matching funds for nonprofits throughout the Metroplex that will be given to participating nonprofits.

As a supporter of ACO, we ask that you spend 5 minutes to make a minimum $25 donation through Donor Bridge website between 7am--7pm.  There are also extra "prizes" for the agency that gets the most donations, and we know that if everyone receiving this newsletter could make the minimum donation of $25, the outcome would be a tremendous impact in our funding.  With everyone working together, we can make a difference in the lives of families that ACO serves.  The needs are great, but so is the support from people like you!

So Get Up and Give TODAY!
