So as I promised here is a little poem written by Dawn Anderson!
Ode to the Mythical Moose Come on up to Maine they said, This is the land where moose are bred, We've got moose fudge, moose mugs, and moose hats Moose ice cream, T-shirts and not only that... You'll see moose in woods, in fields, and bogs, In the middle of the road, or near fallen logs. Every where you go, you'll see warnings Look out for moose! From those in mourning From dented cars and broken fenders The moose have been the biggest offenders. Okay! I'll go up north I decided, I'll research moose spots, so I won't be misguided, I'll read a book, I'll surf the Net This will be an experience I'll never forget! So I drove and searched at morn and night, In the darkness, the dawn, the dusk, and the light, And never in any locale did I see, Not one hoof, not one antler, not one calf--Woe is me! In despair I went into a store for some advice, It was near the hotel and seemed quite nice, I could see why "Mooseville" was what it was called, The moose merchandise was everywhere--floor to ceiling sprawled. I asked the clerk if he'd ever seen a moose in those parts, Thinking he could share with me some of his "moose smarts", "Oh sure, hundreds", he said with a smile, I've seen thirty at one time in just one mile, To see a moose you have to visit in June, You'll see so many it'll make you swoon! And so I have to say I might, Go back to Maine in the summer twilight, And try to see a moose once more, To prove they are not just folklore, Perhaps I'll see that they really exist, Maybe I'll see a moose; I just need to persist!
Hugs and love!
Until the next time...
Happy Moosing!
