You are invited to participate in an online interactive webinar, "Developing Cures with Less Time & Capital," this Thursday to discuss a drug development model employed by the Myelin Repair Foundation with the potential to cut years from the drug development timeline, saving lives and money.
As the nation deals with spiraling drug costs and an urgent need for new treatments, the Myelin Repair Foundation has pioneered a holistic approach to multiple sclerosis drug development that bridges the gap between the promising discoveries made in academic laboratories and big pharmaceutical drug research and development. The approach shows early promise in cutting development costs and shaving years off of the time it takes to develop a drug from basic science to patient therapy.
The Myelin Repair Foundation's approach will not only benefit the millions living with MS but also provides a new source of high-quality drug targets for the dwindling biopharma pipelines.
Learn why the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Pioneer Portfolio of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Scott Cook & Signe Ostby Foundation are investing in MRF's unique approach, its potential to accelerate the drug development process, and why this should call attention to the demand for a new research paradigm.
The session will include an interactive Q&A portion where participants can direct questions to participating panelists. You can join the online conversation about the call on Twitter by following the hashtag #myelincures and by tagging your tweets with the hashtag.

Scott Johnson Takes MRF’s Message to Europe
Last week, MRF president Scott Johnson was in Berlin at the Charite Foundation's Entrepreneurship Summit.
The summit brought together select entrepreneurial scientists, medical doctors, advanced MD or PhD students, as well as tech transfer and business development managers from across Germany and Europe and put them in touch with US and European entrepreneurs, business angels, venture capitalists, start-up experts, patent lawyers, and other relevant professionals. Scott spoke on two panels at the conference: How to Enable Medical Innovations: The Role of Foundations and How to Overcome the Valley of Death in Early Stage Financing.
Lesa Mitchell from the Kauffman Foundation tweeted about Scott's presentation "Myelin Repair Foundation blew away the crowd with the amount of money spent, progress and cycle time in which accomplished."
We're glad to hear about the welcome reception for the MRF message and we hope Scott's engagement in Europe will afford the opportunity for new scientific and philanthropic partnerships for the MRF. We will post stories about Scott's takeaways from the Summit in the MRF Blog when he returns.
