  Willis Hall Events Schedule

Wine Pouring

John will make a long-overdue return to one of his favorite south-end wine shops to pour Willis Hall wines.  Although John works with owners Ric and Dianne Jacobson at a number of Rotary Club events, he hasn't poured Willis Hall at their wine shop,

CorkyCellars in Des Moines, for a very long time.  That all will get corrected at this pouring event, made more enticing by new, reduced prices on Willis Hall wines.  So, get on down to this pouring event, and pick up a couple of cases of your favorite Willis Hall wines.

It'll be fun, and you'll be able to purchase bottles of your favorites to take home.  Put this event on your calendar, and get signed up NOW!

Roy Robinson

Over 5 years ago, Caldie Rogers, President and CEO of the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce, negotiated a special auto and RV purchasing program exclusively for Chamber members, their employees  (including immediate family- parents, spouse and children).

This program provides special pricing on new and pre-owned cars, trucks, SUVs and RVs (in addition to rebates and other incentives).

Members are also assured the best possible finance and lease rates through 35+ banks and credit unions with no "finance manager" to "up charge" interest rates!

For some time now, the Tulalip Tribe and Resort Casino employees and families have been taking advantage of it through their connection with the chamber and results have been very favorable.

Marysville schools get rebate for energy conservation Herald staff Energy conservation at Marysville schools has added up.

The Marysville School Board was presented with a $82,659 check by Snohomish PUD Commissioner David Aldrich at its meeting Monday night. The rebate is for energy savings at the district's schools.

Aldrich noted several energy-efficiency aspects of Marysville Getchell High School, including lighting, heating and ventilation features built into the school which opened in September.

"Collectively these measures represent nearly 350,000 kilowatt hours of annual savings while reducing the district's electricity bill by $24,705," he said.

The money will go into the capital projects fund to be reinvested into continued energy conservation efforts, said Jodi Runyon, executive assistant to the superintendent.

Team Up & Save!

PUD Offers Free Home Energy Assessments for Customers

Everett, WA - Team up and save energy and money! Now for a limited time, when five Snohomish County households team up - family, friends and neighbors - the utility will offer free energy assessments for each home, which would normally cost up to $500. With the personalized reports from the PUD, customers are better able to prioritize energy saving measures in their homes.

Assessments examine a range of energy-related components, including: insulation, windows, heating systems and ductwork, appliances, electronics, thermostats and lighting. The report recommends simple, free and low-cost actions as well as efficiency investments.

As an added benefit, participating customers will be eligible to receive an enhanced $125 rebate for purchasing qualifying ENERGY STAR refrigerators.  Customers with electrically heated homes can qualify for insulation incentives that are 25 percent higher than the PUD normally offers.

To participate, five or more households need to team up and submit application documents together.   Detailed program instructions and application documents are available at www.snopud.com/cpassessment or by calling the PUD Energy Hotline at 425-783-1700. The free energy assessments are available for a limited time only on a first-come, first-served basis.

The home energy assessments are part of the Community Power! program, a partnership between the PUD and Snohomish County. Funding also comes from federal stimulus grants to help bring energy efficiency to communities.

Rob McKenna is serving his second term as Washington's 17th Attorney General. As the state's chief legal officer, he directs more than 500 attorneys and 700 professional staff providing legal services to state agencies, the Governor and the Legislature.

Mr. McKenna will be discussing issues relating to the Office of the Attorney General such as health care, fraud, employee issues and the impact of recent state and national legislation. McKenna's priorities as Attorney General have been: making communities safer, protecting consumers and businesses from fraud, identity theft and high-tech crimes, and promoting integrity in government by encouraging open access to government.

McKenna received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1988, where he was a member of the Law Review. He earned a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Washington where he was student body president and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He began his career as an attorney with Perkins Cole, in 1988 where he practiced business and regulatory law until 1996.

Under AG McKenna's leadership, the Office of the Attorney General was the first state agency to implement a performance management plan that rewards high-performing employees who achieve rigorous goals. He also updated the state's public records law and developed model rules for public disclosure and electronic records.

McKenna has won all three of the cases he has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, defending voter-adopted laws on campaign finance reform, the top-two primary election system and the state public records law.

Rob McKenna is a committed community leader and has raised hundreds of thousands for the Eastside Domestic Violence Program and the Bellevue Schools Foundation. An Eagle Scout himself, McKenna continues to serve as a board member with the Chief Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is also a board member of the Washington State Army Advisory Board and the Bellevue Community College Foundation (where he served as President in 2009-2010).

McKenna, his wife Marilyn, and their four children reside in Bellevue.
