About this Webinar

It has now been seven months since the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico began imposing a sales and use tax on most retail transactions. However, many key questions remain unanswered. This webinar will focus on some of the issues that are critical to those businesses who engage in business on the Island. We will focus our attention on the municipal component of the tax, addressing the question of when municipal tax should be collected, the proper tax base, and the manner in which the tax should be reported and remitted. We will also consider some of the more complex points of the Commonwealth law and how the tax applies to particular industries. Finally, we will provide some insight into upcoming legislative changes.
