|
Greetings!

October is a great month to reflect upon the year and ask ourselves what we wish to accomplish within our community. Many of you have such great stories to share. Stories from within and stories from aboard. Stories about how you made a difference in some ones life. Would you share your story with your fellow Orange Rotarians? We'd like to hear from you!
Be sure to check out Orange Rotary's Facebook page, link is listed under "quick links" on right side of column. Here you find lot pictures of our Club members and what there talking about. If you have photos you would like to post to our FB page, but don't know how to do it, see at our weekly meeting and will get those photos available for all our member to see! ...Glenn Chitjian E-Newsletter Publisher Note: Added a link to view past Orange Rotarian newsletters... see under quick links |

President Ron's Weekly Message
.
One of our speakers this past week, Mr. Greg Cornell from Chapman University mentioned there were 3 or 4 Student in the 2012 class that had received scholarships from Rotary to help them get through school. I do not know if you felt as I did, but it made me incredibly proud to know that Rotary played a hand in helping them.
That is what Rotary is all about. Helping the youth in our community get their education, helping kids in school being able to get food and even have some to take home over the weekend, as John Ditty's group does, is just a small part of what Rotary is all about.
Our upcoming fund- raiser is just one of the ways we raise money to make these missions of mercy possible. We are making progress, but we are running out of time. We must know soon what your commitment is towards helping us not only meet our expenses, but indeed to raise funds. Our whole purpose of choosing the theme this year is to find a theme and a venue with which we can reach the whole community, and not just the members of our club. So, who are you inviting? What are you bringing as an offering for money drawings? Who do you know in the community that you could ask to be one of our sponsors? Thanks for your help! Ron

Rotary's Sweat Equity Project - Malawi, Africa |
A Team of 14 Rotary volunteers worked three weeks in Malawi, Africa, as part of a Sweat Equity Project. They helped fund and build two school classrooms, fixed and painted teachers' houses and learned about the challenges that the people of Malawi face, particularly the women and children who are HIV positive. The group visited HIV clinics, homes and other areas of importance.
Their experiences deepened and expanded the relationship with the people in the village of Misangu and Rotary's partners Dignitas and Emmanuel International.
