Greetings!

March is National Nutrition month.   For seniors, the benefits of good nutrition and healthy eating are numerous and include increased mental awareness;  boosting your immune system to fight illness; and reducing the risk of heart disease, type-2 diabetes and osteoporosis, just to name a few.  Eating well and drinking plenty of water are ways we can take good care of ourselves on the inside.  And when we eat better, we have more energy and we feel good, which makes us look good, as well.

If you would like additional information about healthy eating,

 Introducing Sonja Klauber

The twinkle in her eye only hints at the experiences Sonja might share. Born in Munich, her family moved to Milan, Italy when she was young, hoping for a better life.  Talent let her soar ahead of her peers, as she was accepted into at the oldest art college in Europe, Accadamia Brera, at the age of 15.  Fearless ambition led her to climb the Matterhorn as a teen as well!

In 1938, Sonia's family boarded the Ile de France for New York, where she continued her studies at FIT.  A natural at design, but hating to sew, she transferred to Cooper Union, where she excelled in electrical engineering and ultimately designed and headed the testing of relays for bombers for the military. When a friend and owner of a local newspaper asked her to accompany him to Princetonto do an interview, she was introduced to an "outrageous flirt" - Albert Einstein!  Of this encounter, she remembers, "He looked so much better than his pictures!"
