Course 111: The Kingdom of God - Lesson #14
Between the Kingdom of Heaven; the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan
Some time ago, a dear sister from South Africa sought to know the difference between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. At this stage of our discourse, it is necessary that we allow the Holy Spirit to make the Word come alive so that in its light, we shall have light.
The Kingdom of Heaven
The Kingdom of Heaven is simply the pre-existent, ageless domain where God rules from His Throne. The Throne of God was, is and shall remain the pivot of heaven. Angels of God in their various ranks and orders of assignment are citizens of the Kingdom. The Constitution of the Kingdom is summed up in the mind, will and desire of God who sits on the Throne. His wish is the command of His citizens.
All that God created as intelligent beings were however given something He considers sacred: a will. The will was to be the center of all their decisions. In other words, God had no need of robots to worship Him but preferred that His intelligently designed creation - including Angels and later mankind, would willingly submit their wills 100 percent to His. This is the essential core of true worship: submission to the perfect will of God in an absolute sense! Even though He is Supreme Ruler of the Universe He created, God was not about to impose His will on His creation!
In eternity past on a date that we have no knowledge of, something strange happened. Lucifer, the anointed Cherub who covered the very Throne of God bucked the trend! He withdrew his yielded will and decided to exercise it independent of God! He was found with iniquity and desire to upstage God! Read the accounts in Isaiah 14: 12-17 and Ezekiel 28: 11-17.

The True Kingdom of God: A Panoramic View (2)
The True Kingdom of God is Literal, Real and Functional!
You may be passing through storms, experiencing all manner of issues here on earth. One anchor that is wired into all those whose names are in the Lamb's Book of Life is the sure hope of a better world ahead. Of that world, all true saints know that a moment therein, relatively speaking, outweighs everything that transpired here on planet earth.
Here then is a panoramic view of that world to come: the True Kingdom of God. It is literal, meaning it will be a real Kingdom with functional government! The truth is that the Kingdom Life we are called to live in the present is a dress rehearsal for the Big Deal! The Big Deal of the coming Literal Kingdom of God is the greatest motivation to obey Him and submit willingly to His Sovereign Rule in the present. The peculiar 'other worldly life' those who will partake in the world to come will live in the present is the subject of a subsequent lesson.
Demystifying the Kingdom
Let us take on and debunk some popular but erroneous concepts of the Kingdom derived from books by religious scholars:
- Location: The Kingdom of God will not be situated in heaven.
- Populace: The Kingdom of God will not be inhabited by just angels and mere spirits. As a matter of fact, the Kingdom is not designed for them!
- Influence: The Kingdom of God is not a mere influence.
- Surreal: The Kingdom of God will not be a fable as if we were in a dream. It is not about Zephyrs and angels flying like Butterflies in between Gardens of Roses and Lilies.

The True Kingdom of God: A Panoramic View (1)
No one in a sane state of mind will reject the grand offer of God: entrance into a realm of life which will see the fullness of the heart cry of humanity! In the heart of all humans - male and female, young and old; white, black, coloured and mixed is this deep felt hunger for the 'good' life.
Most religions of the world have some forms of teaching about a future state of bliss where life is one vast endless season of joy. For the sake of that future state, many are willing to suffer pain or death in the present. It is interesting that even amongst the most remote people groups who have not yet been brought under the influence of the major mono-theistic faiths, there is so much folklore surrounding what will happen in future after death.
The dark things of this world have so dominated the news channels that it appears that talk of an afterlife is a pipe dream. There is hardly one nation on earth today that enjoys peace. Among the great western democracies including the US, United Kingdom, France, the threat of terrorism is real. Violence is a daily fare on streets of the powerful nations on earth. In the so called developing nations, the case is even more dangerous. From Brazil to South Africa, from Nigeria to Venezuela, violence, political instability and corruption are rampant.
The bible makes it clear that these situations will deteriorate, not improve. With a fanatic Islamic nations like Iran set to acquire nuclear weaponry and with the wealth of the nations that hate Israel providing them the means to acquire as much arms and ammunitions as they can, we can see that the Middle East - that piece of real estate on which humanity was cradled and on which some of the darkest chapters of human history have been played out - real crises which some have dubbed World War III eerily seems a stark possibility.
