California Senate Committee approves a new nursing home licensing category that would allow Green House homes in the state

 

"It puts the 'home' back into nursing home."  That's how California Senator Elaine Alquist (D-San Jose) described SB 1228 when addressing the Senate Committee on Health this week. The bill would create a new health facility licensing category for a small house skilled nursing facility that is either a standalone home or consists of more than one home providing skilled nursing care in a noninstitutional setting...

It won't sound like a good idea to everyone, especially those who are asked to spend time and effort on the study.  The time needed for site visits and data collection will lead some people to ask, "Is it really worth the time and energy?"...
