Heritage Tour, Homestead, Iowa, July 15-20
There will be a proper in-depth article in the Sep-Oct issue of The Bulb Horn about the Heritage Tour that just wrapped up in Iowa. But until then, here is a taste of this excellent tour and a few of the cars that participated.

Bulb Horn Prints First Issue at Modern Litho
Article by Mike Welsh, National Secretary, photos from Modern Litho
Mike and Jim Tombilson inspect a sheet hot off the presses
On July 20, 2012 my wife Judith and I visited the Modern Litho printing operation in Jefferson City, Missouri. I wanted to represent VMCCA as a witness to the first printing of the Bulb Horn at this facility.
We received a very warm welcome from Cindy Replogle, Account Executive, and were introduced to many members of the staff; including two of the owners. Jim Tomblinson, the Director of Operations, led us on a tour of the facilities.
We had been asked to arrive at 9:00 a.m. the expected time that the May/August issue would be coming off the press. The Bulb Horn was indeed coming off of two presses at that time. In addition to the printing presses. we saw the cutting and binding operations plus the plates being made for the printing presses. The Modern Litho staff seemed pleased at our interest and I was very glad to have the opportunity to visit for this historic occasion.

Rare Cars Added at The Pioneer Auto Show
The name Pioneer Auto Show probably rings a bell. They have been a seasonal advertiser for their museum in Murdo, South Dakota. The museum is owned by VMCCA member Dave Giesler. Recently Dave added four rare cars and shared pictures with us. His comments and pictures follow.
Dave's Transport delivered some of the rarest & oldest vehicles to the world famous Pioneer Auto Show in Murdo, SD. This fulfilled a long time negotiation with a northeast collection where the vehicles had been for 65 years. They are proudly displayed at Pioneer Auto and give even more class to the collection.
The cars are:
1904 Holsman Model K
Chicago, IL (1903 - 1910)
The granddaddy of the high wheelers.
Many companies copied.
Note Rope Drive - 7/8 Manilla Rope.
Henry K. Holsman stuck with the high wheeler until they went out of favor.
1907 Middleby
Reading, Pennsylvania
Named for Charles M. Middleby
Cars were built in the former Charles E Duryea Plant
Air Cooled / 2 Cylinder
Last One ???
1905 Fiat
1903 Ford Model A
This is a collectors dream.
Serial #433
We suppose Henry Ford's fingerprints are all over this one. Henry then built several more models until he settled on the T in 1908. We have been looking for an '03 Ford since we opened in 1954. Hurray!!!

The VMCCA Page on Facebook!
Facebook has become an extremely popular social networking site, reportedly having more than 500,000,000 users. That is something like one in fifteen people on the planet! There is no doubt that it is a great tool for keeping in touch with people and organizations in a way that was undreamed of and impossible just a few short years ago.
I set up a page for us a few months ago and it is becoming more and more popular. It really is becoming a forum with many active contributors.
So join! Contribute! Make it a forum for all things VMCCA. Click on the "Find us on Facebook" box below. Then click Like!

Photo Site - See Link in Quick Links
The Photo Site is one I created originally for my local chapter, although many VMCCA members from other areas now visit it. It covers all the local, regional, and national events that I attend. Obviously, I cannot attend everything but I would like this to become a site for photos from all our regions and chapters.
So, who has photos from any of this years tours? I would love to share them with everyone. Send them to me!
