Name Change For Newsletter
Welcome to the second issue of the VMCCA newsletter, The Touring Chronicle. Note that the name has changed. We found that the name previously chosen was already in longtime use, so The Touring Chronicle it is.

Grundy to Help Sponsor Two VMCCA National Tours!
Grundy Insurance, a

familiar name to all in the old car hobby, has agreed to partially sponsor two VMCCA National Tours. They chose to participate in The One & Two Cylinder Tour and The Western National Tour.
The One & Two Cylinder Tour was selected because cars of that vintage reflect the personal interest of Mr. Grundy. The Western National Tour is a perfect fit for them in that it is the only VMCCA Tour open to all cars 25 years old or older, and thus reflects the full range of cars insured by Grundy Insurance.
For the latter tour, for example, Grundy is providing high quality tour bags, cloth car number banners similar to those used on Glidden Tours, two quarter page ads in Hemmings Motor News (see May and June issues in the Events section), and some very high quality trophies.
Our sincere thanks to Grundy for their participation. Together, we can raise these tours another notch in quality while holding costs to an affordable level.

The Chrome Glidden is our tour for later model cars. Automobiles from 1935 through 1986 qualify.
This year the Chrome takes place in and around the North Shore of Lake Michigan. It is hosted by our Toledo Chapter. Highlights include Great Lakes Motor Works, Classic Instruments, a lunch at Hagerty Insurance, banquets at Petoskey Bay View Country Club, and much, much more.
The dates are June 5 through June 11. The host hotel is the Odawa Casino and Hotel in Petoskey, MI. A live link in the left hand column will take you right to registration information and forms.

One & Two Cylinder Tour
 |
1904 Oldsmobile
|
This is a great tour for the very earliest cars. Specifically, it is open to one and two cylinder cars, steam cars, and electric cars built in or before 1915; and 4-cylinder cars of 10 hp or less built in or before 1904.
This years tour takes place in Monticello IN., July 4 through 9. The tour includes paddleboat and canal boat rides,a trolley and a carousel ride and much more. You know this sounds like fun. Click on the link in the left hand column for full registration information.

Join the VMCCA page on Facebook!
Facebook has become an extremely popular social networking site, reportedly having more than 500,000,000 users. That is something like one in fifteen people on the planet! There is no doubt that it is a great tool for keeping in touch with people and organizations in a way that was undreamed of and impossible just a few short years ago.

We try to keep up with the times so we have created a VMCCA page within Facebook. Join! Contribute! Make it a forum for all things VMCCA. Click on the "Find us on Facebook" box below. Then click Like!

Photo Site - See Link in Quick Links
The Photo Site is one I created primarily for my local chapter, although many VMCCA members from other areas now visit it. It covers all the local, regional, and national events that I attend. Obviously, I cannot attend everything but I would like this to become a site for photos from all our regions and chapters.
So, send me your photos and I will add them to the site. Send them by email, by CD or DVD. Get them to me any way you can and I will put them up, crediting whoever sends them to me. I particularly would like to see albums from all the national events.
