Did you know?!

Holiday Edition

Did you know that every Christmas Eve NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) tracks Santa and his journey around the world?

This tradition started in 1955 when Sears posted an ad that told kids to call Santa directly. However, there was a typo in the number and all calls came to Colorado Springs Continental Air Defense Command, which later became NORAD.

Because it was Christmas Eve, Colonel Shoup told his staff to tell all children that called Santa's "current location".

Track Santa's location this Christmas Eve on NORAD's website by clicking here

Did you know that Hanukkah begins in the 25th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev, which varies from year to year on the Western calendar?!

The eight day celebration commemorates the rededication of the Jerusalem temple and the miracle of the sacred lamp that burned for eight days on a single day's oil.

Did you know that Kwanzaa means "first fruits of the harvest"?!

Kwanzaa is a seven day celebration of African culture that starts on December 26th and goes through January 1st.

MIFI HotspotTech Gift Guide

For the Traveler - MIFI Hot Spot

Have you ever needed to get connected to the internet but you weren't at home or the office? Then the Verizon MIFI 4G unit is the device for you. The device creates a WIFI hotspot when you turn it on and allows up to 5 simultaneous connections. A family can connect the iPad, laptop, Nintendo and other WIFI enabled devices to the MIFI unit while vacationing in a remote cabin, they can basically take the internet wherever they go as long as there is cell service. This works perfectly in the business environment for those who travel all the time and need multiple devices to connect to the internet. Rate plans are around $50 per month and have metered bandwidth. Sprint and AT&T make similar devices but you need to choose your carrier carefully because unlimited bandwidth sounds good until you read the fine print.

Smartpen

For the Note Taker/Student - Livescribe Smartpen

This device is really neat and can increase productivity no matter if a person uses it for school or meetings. The amount of things that this pen can do is great. You can record a lecture then listen back to it. As you are writing notes, you can specifically point the audio to correlate to what and where you wrote allowing you to later easily access that information. Your written notes can then be easily downloaded to your computer and transferred to text. The pen also includes a built in calculator, games, and password protection. This device is also perfect for people with hearing and learning disabilities because recorded audio can be played over as many times as necessary in any place. The only drawback of this device is that it only works with special paper.

Kindle FireFor the Book Worm - Amazon Kindle

If there is someone on your list that really likes to read, a Kindle would be the perfect gift! Amazon has a whole family of Kindles to choose from. The Kindle Fire is the only color device and does not come with 3G option so one must have access to a wireless hot-spot to use the internet or to download books. You can comfortably surf the internet, download apps, check mail, and watch movies and shows on the Kindle Fire. If all that you are looking for is to read books and have less strain on the eyes, get the regular Kindle which also comes in a large size for those who enjoy larger print.

MB Science KitFor the Kids - Mythbusters Science Kits

Inspire yourself, your future scientist or your future inventor and get any kid a Mythbusters Science Kit or the show DVDs. This is entertainment that everyone from ages 9 to 99 can learn from. A whole family can participate in the fun experiments that will leave everyone craving for more knowledge!

This website will let them find neat computer gadgets, zombie blood, light sabers, bacteria/virus shaped plush toys, anything and everything bacon flavored, robots, and lots of funny t-shirts.

USB Car ChargerStocking Stuffer - USB Car Charger

This Kensington DualPort USB car charger allows you to plug it into your car's power port and use a USB cable to charge your devices. It is also powerful enough to charge an iPad! Having this device eliminates the need to carry different car chargers for different devices in your vehicle.
