Green Design
Green or 'Sustainable' design is design that goes beyond being just efficient, attractive, on time, and on budget. It is a design that cares about how such goals are achieved and about its effect on people and on the environment. An environmentally responsible professional makes a commitment to constantly try to find ways to diminish design's impact on the world around us. It is also a smart way of doing business: sustainable design is the fastest growing segment of the design industry. {source: ASID} Many of The Red Vault members incorporate green design practices in their work and inventory. Be sure to visit these stores and tell them you saw it on The Red Vault.

Brown 2940 Ferndale @ Alabama Houston, Texas 77098 713-522-2151
www.shopbybrown.com Brown carries two 'green' products for caring for your home.

First is "The Original Bee's Wax" furniture polish. It makes granite acid resistant, keeps your bathroom mirror from fogging up and doesn't leave fingerprints or wax build up on your furniture. It can be used on copper, wrought iron, marble, leather, chrome, stainless steel... just about everything. It cleans, protects, preserves and restores lustre while keeping the wood from drying out.

Next is our "Fire Ball." It's essentially a wick-less candle that burns with a pourable Eco-Gel fuel. The gel is a citronella base which is great for repelling mosquitoes. It's a clean burning bio-ethanol fuel made from recycled post consumer waste. |
