Hello ~

The Perfect Chair

I have always been drawn to chairs and can't seem to pass one by as I'm always on the quest for the perfect chair. We all need chairs in our homes - for the dining table, for lounging and relaxing, for work spaces, and for entertaining.

To choose the proper chair, first decide its function. A nice upright, yet comfortable, chair is perfect for dining and working. You want to be at ease sitting there for a while but also be able to eat and work properly while sitting there. Conversely, while you are relaxing or watching TV, you want to be really comfortable. A deep, soft chair is a great choice.

Also, take into account the size and scale of your room - or your family - before you choose a chair. For instance, my son is almost 6'4" and at 14 years old is not going to stop growing any time soon. He has long outgrown most of the chairs in my home so I have to choose based on what we will all be comfortable in.

And there is always the issue of style. Modern? Traditional?
Thankfully there are so many design choices out there. Here are a few that I recommend:

Set of 8 Mutton Chairs
Pat Monroe Antiques

Set of Four Vintage Tubular Brno Chairs
Vieux Interiors

Early 20th C leather chairs

Heather Bowen Antiques

The Red Vault is proud to welcome LeSueur Interiors. Meg Lonergan, ne Mary Margaret LeSueur, was born in South Louisiana and, although Meg was uprooted from the south at an early age, her design stays true to the tradition, history and that certain savoir-faire only found below the Mason-Dixon line. After living in various cities and countries scattered across the globe, Meg's style has become a true reflection of her multi-cultural exposure balanced with southern elegance.

Meg believes having an 'eye' for design cannot be taught or learned, but can be refined and polished with experience and influence. She displays an acute attention to the most minor of details in the worlds of fashion, art, architecture and interior design, honing her creative spirit and developing her sophisticated yet playful sense of style.

After Meg and her Kiwi high school sweetheart turned husband moved to Houston in 2009, LeSueur Interiors was born. Meg's eye for mixing the old with the new, the classic with inventive, fine antiques paired with flea market finds; are molded from her experiences living abroad in Singapore, New Zealand and Paris as well as her travels all over the world. Her intuitive southern flair and international sensitivity can be seen clearly in her interiors, forming eclectic and creatively fresh concepts. She has an ability to harmonize her client's tastes and treasures in a profound and rich tapestry of unique design.

An adventurous and curious spirit, traveling is one of Meg's passions, second only to her love of great design. If not collecting fabrics in India, furniture from Bali or creating her own line of LeSueur Interiors 'Lagniappe' candles, you might just as easily find her around town in a yoga studio, flea market, or coffee house, keeping her keen eye out for that next spice of inspiration.
