Hello ~
Turquoise
Turquoise, one of my all-time favorite colors, is the color of 2010 as chosen by Pantone - the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries. They describe turquoise as "combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing".
In fact, there is even a blog dedicated to the color - www.houseofturquoise.com. Turquoise never fails to make me happy, and it adds a jolt of energy to any décor.
There are numerous ways to add turquoise to your home through dishes, kitchen appliances, art, pillows, photo frames, furniture, and decorative accessories.

Green in the home and construction - we hear the term green construction or design a lot but what does this mean.
Here are a few examples: ˇ Reuse or clean an existing item instead of replacing - such as a tub or sink. ˇ Build products - using local products from the surrounding area either in the form of the wood, stone, or tile ˇ Use recycled products that have been formed for new uses such as for countertops or floors ˇ Use stainable woods such as bamboo or use reclaimed woods ˇ Appliances and products that reduce and conserve your resources such as: Energy efficient products like refrigerators, ovens and etc Toilets, sinks, and showers that reduce water usage Windows that block heat and light that reduce electric usage. ˇ Use non-volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in your paints, stains, and epoxies and reduction of other chemicals ˇ Do not forget about insulation and radiant barriers which conserve energy but are also coming in green friendly forms
Look for terms: ˇ Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system that goes usually toward the design phase. ˇ Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) associated with wood products. ˇ Energy Star Rated for appliances and other products. ˇ Green Seal of Approval ˇ Low or Non VOC
