Hello ~
Summer break is now officially over. I love the carefree time of the summer, but I honestly like the structure of getting back on a schedule. It's back to school time for the kids and all the designers that have been shopping all summer have their containers coming in!

I visited The Gray Door today. They are so excited about 2 new dealers that have recently joined them. Donna Brown was happy to tell me all about them and show me around the store so I could photograph some of their pieces for you to see. They both have unloaded their containers in the past several weeks in their new home.
Kathy Alexander owns Rousset Antiques. Kathy recently moved from New Orleans - where she had a long time store on Magazine Street - to Austin. She now drives in to Houston weekly to bring in more merchandise. She is well known for her 18th Century Italian pieces and antique textiles - especially tapestries and vintage Fortuny.

Angie Tyner owns A. Tyner Antiques. She is always at Marburger but also wanted to be a part of the Houston design scene on a permanent basis. So, she contacted Donna and voila! Angie and her husband Hugh live in Atlanta but are extensive world travelers. They were one of the first to import from Sweden - in fact, Hugh is fluent in Swedish!

Memorial Antiques & Interiors has some exciting news!
Local hot decorating source, Memorial Antiques & Interiors, was pleased to be the antiques source for Extreme Makeover Home Edition's work in Houston lately. Construction of the home took place the last week of July and into the first days of August. Behind the scenes, the show's decorators worked overtime, and that included after-hours visits with decorators and dealers at Memorial Antiques & Interiors. MAI's contributions included antiques and vintage accessories to be used in decorating the Johnson family's home. The show's season premier is September 26th, and the airdate for this actual episode will be announced soon. For more information about MAI, visit www.maihouston.com, or drop by the store at 8719 Katy Freeway 77024 (713.827.8087).
