(San Bernardino, CA) Yucaipa Mayor Dick Riddell was elected as the new Vice Chair of
the Omnitrans Board of Directors on March 2, effective immediately. He fills a vacancy left by the recent resignation of Upland Mayor John Pomierski. Riddell will assume the position of Board Chair in July when the two-year term of Mayor Pro Tem Penny Lilburn ends.

Riddell has served on the Omnitrans Board of Directors for 16 years and been an active member of the Board's Planning and Productivity Committee. His city recently worked closely with Omnitrans to bring the Yucaipa Transit Center from concept to reality, opening in July 2010. Riddell also serves on the Sanbag Board of Directors.
"Mayor Riddell has a long history of dedication and support for Omnitrans," said agency CEO/General Manager Milo Victoria after the meeting. "We look forward to his leadership as we continue our mission to provide safe, reliable transportation service to the valley."
Born in San Bernardino, Riddell has lived his entire life in the Inland Empire except when he served in the U. S. Navy. He is a graduate of San Bernardino Valley College and the University of Redlands. Riddell recalls early experiences in public transportation from when his father worked for the Pacific Electric Railway which served Southern California in the first half of the 20th century. Riddell had a long career with Southern California Gas and also worked in the geotechnical engineering field. A widower, he is the father of four. |
