Volunteers needed!

Currently, the posts are only in English, but I am hoping some of you can volunteer to translate the posts for me. That way we can make this resource available to all providers. I know we need Spanish, Chinese and Russian, but if there is a need for other languages and someone could translate for me, I will definitely add pages for those languages as well.

Greetings!

Summer's almost over and another school year has already started in most areas.  It was a very busy summer for me. For starters, I got married J  so you will begin to see my new name, Natalie Kriger, on things.

My name has changed, but my commitment to family child care is as strong as ever.

Licensing Forms and Records For Family Child Care

files

I recently went to the California Community Care Licensing website because I needed to download a form. I've always found Licensing's website to be a little confusing to navigate. It took me several minutes to find the licensing forms page and when I did, I had to weed through so many forms that didn't pertain to family child care, that by the time I found the one I was looking for, I was frustrated and annoyed.

I thought, if this is frustrating to me, it's probably frustrating to providers. So, I created a page with just the licensing forms that you need most often in your family child care. I found most of them in both English and Spanish, many in Chinese and a few in Russian. You can download the forms here.

I also created direct links to other important information on Licensing's website, like the orientations and updates. You can find those here. If you are outside California, I put up a link to find the licensing information in the other 49 states as well.

I hope this webpage makes getting licensing forms and information a little easier for you.

Zero To Three
zero to three
ZERO TO THREE is a national nonprofit organization that informs, trains and supports professionals, policymakers and parents in their efforts to improve the lives of infants and toddlers.

I highly recommend checking out their website where you will find fantastic resources on Child Development, Public Policy and Early Care and Education. For example, a set of nine, age-based handouts which includes:

  • A chart that helps parents know what to expect developmentally from their child, and how they can help their child learn at each stage
  • Frequently asked questions and answers
  • A spotlight section that goes into greater depth on a common issue or challenge for each age
  • A research summary specific to each stage of development, and what it means for parents

These handouts were written for parents, but are also an excellent resource for providers, and a great tool for communicating and partnering with parents. You can download the handouts here.
