2011 CAMP DATE REMINDER!
Camp 5 dates are August 8 - 12, 2011. We are working on the camp schedule -- if you are able to volunteer this year, please send me an email and let me know. We hope you can join us!
We will be hosting new volunteer orientations in July. I'll let you know as soon as we've set the dates.

CAMP KIDS UPDATE!
I recently met with Meritt for coffee and she was telling me what she and the other Bridge site directors are hearing from the kids on a daily basis for the entire school year!
When is hockey camp? Is hockey camp tomorrow? When is August? Where is Coach Kibby? What about Peter? And, what about Coach Gary? Are we going to get new shoes? What about Avalanche jerseys? Am I old enough for Miracles on Ice? Am I too old for Miracles on Ice? What food are they going to have? Are we going to be on T.V.?
Meritt also wanted me to pass on to you that all of the Bridge Project kids are doing fantastic! They have been working incredibly hard this year. Many of the students have greatly improved their reading scores due to their hard work and perseverance!
This gets us even more excited that camp is just a few months away!

PAST CAMP PARTICIPANT RANDY!
Randy's mother called to let us know that Randy received an award yesterday. Denver School of the Arts Counselor, Gary Lubell said that five 8th grade students out of 171 students were selected for the Colorado Youth Leadership Award. The students were selected for standing out in the following categories: Achievement, talent, passion, attitude and leadership. Mr. Lubell said that these students are the creme de la creme of the creme. That they stand out amongst their peers that are already outstanding as well. Congratulations Randy! |

Thank you DIRECTV for inviting us back to your employee volunteer fair. It was a lot of fun and great meeting and talking with DIRECTV employees. Looking forward to them volunteering with us this year.
