Our 2010 Camp
The excitement is building as we approach the 4th annual Miracles on Ice camp. With new sponsors joining us this year, DIRECTV and USA Hockey to name but a few, along with returning sponsors such as Altitude Sports & Entertainment and the University of Denver Athletics & Recreation, we are setting the stage for another great camp.
A generous sponsor has donated all the tennis shoes and socks for this years camp kids. The kids will once again get to wear real Avalanche sweaters provided by Kroenke Sports Enterprises for the end of week big game! To name a few other items already committed, USA Hockey is providing hats and t-shirts, Liberty Media Corporation employees are donating school supplies, DU is donating t-shirts and Rocky Mountain Popcorn Company is donating popcorn snacks. Thank you, Sponsors, so very much!
Returning Colorado Avalanche sports announcer, Peter McNab has already signed on to join us again this year. Peter has been involved since the beginning of the Miracles on Ice program and we are pleased he has signed up for another year. Also, rumor has it that Jim Benemann, CBS4 News Anchor, has again committed to referee the kids' big game on Friday afternoon. New to this years camp - we hope - is Scott Hastings, Nuggets Television Color Analyst, who last year committed in front of the camera to make his skating debut with the kids this year at our Miracles on Ice camp!
Lorenzo Moreno will be returning this year to head up one of the classrooms. We are lucky to also have Artie Kaczmarek's son-in-law, Paul Maestas, join us to take over the other classroom duties. Trey Baker and Ryan Ross will be our motivational speakers this year. They both did a fabulous job on their own can you imagine the impact with the two of them together? They have the ability to hold the attention of all of us during that hour. We will also have a couple of young men from the Rite of Passage speak to the kids.
Finally, this year will provide another first in that we will have Miracles on Ice alumni participants return to the camp as volunteers. Randy "Tank" our own Miracles on Ice camper for 3 years will return to camp this year as a volunteer. This is but one of our many goals we seek in the camp -- teaching the kids to give back in their own community!
So register online or give Deb a call to "insure your volunteer spot" for this years camp!
Don't miss the opportunity to make a difference to a young girl or boy!
