Target is offering an exciting (and free!) promotion during the back-to-school time. Vision Charter will receive a $25 Target GiftCard for every 25 votes received during the Promotion Period; up to a maximum of $10,000 in gift cards. For example, schools that receive less than 25 votes will not receive any gift cards, while schools that receive 25-49 votes receive a $25 Target GiftCard and schools that receive 50-74 votes receive $50 in gift cards.  Visit our Facebook page and click on the "Give with Target" link.  Share the link on facebook  with family and friends and encourage them to vote as well.  Everyone can vote once every two days!  Your votes have already earned 2 gift cards for the school -- let's keep it up!

PFA CORNER

 

Hey parents -- don't forget to cut out all the box tops from your school supplies. The PFA will have a collection box at their table during Meet the Teacher Night, to collect the tops you've been saving this summer. You will receive 5 raffle tickets if you bring in any box tops to have a chance to win a "School Supplies Cake" that will be raffled off at our first PFA meeting on September 6th Thursday evening at 6:30.You will receive one raffle ticket just for stopping by the PFA table!

HOT LUNCHES

 

The Hot Lunch free/reduced applications for school year 2012-2013 are now available on our website under "VCS News". They are available in both English and in Spanish. All applications must be submitted to the school office no later than Monday, August 13, 2012 in order to be approved prior to the school year starting. All applications received after August 13th may take up to 10 business days to be approved.

 

Our lunches are catered and brought in by Oasis Food Service. The lunches adhere to the NSLP guidelines. Because we do not have a kitchen at the school, it is necessary to pre-order lunches, even if you qualify for free lunches.

 

All Lunches are ordered using orderlunches.com website. You can start ordering lunches for your children starting August 12th through August 21st. The window to order lunches is the same every month - the 12th - 22nd of the month prior. However, since school is beginning August 21st, you will need to have your orders placed for two weeks in August by August 20th. September lunches will need to be placed by August 22nd. For August lunches, payment must be received by August 20th. For September lunches, payment must be received by August 30th.

Cost for lunches are $2.85/regular price or $0.75/reduced price. You may also have the option of ordering a-la-carte milk at $0.40/day.

 

For those parents who are new to our school, you will need to register on the orderlunches.com website. It is a very user-friendly website. To set up an account, you will need to follow these simple instructions:

Follow the prompts to enter yours and your children's information

 

Remember you need to order August lunches by August 20th and order September lunches by August 22nd.

 

Reminder: If your child is going to be tardy, please contact the office by 8:30 a.m. If you do not, we will assume your child will be absent, and will cancel the hot lunch.
