Hey Everybody! Do you want to help us make a difference for the parents of VCS who are battling cancer? Then get all your friends to sponsor you on March 22nd and participate in our 2nd Annual Make a Difference Walk! We'll be walking, hopping, and skipping our way around the back field to raise money to give to families of Vision Charter School whose lives are affected by cancer. Collect donations from family, friends, and neighbors, but don't forget to get your parent permission first!

3 VCS parents are fighting the fight!
  • Jeanie Allen-
    • On January 31, 2012, Middleton, ID Firefighter/EMT Jeanie (Chaplin) Allen was diagnosed with an extremely rare and not well-understood form of cancer. Known as Clear Cell Sarcoma. Jeanie is a fit, healthy mother of two children Skye, 13, and Jesse, 11, and wife of Robert Allen. Jeanie's doctors say her cancer is at Stage 4, and that chemotherapy has a slim chance of affecting a positive outcome. Being who she is, Jeanie isn't about to roll over and let this terrible disease take her. She's going to fight it. She's going to do whatever she can to defeat her enemy and live her life to its fullest. You can visit her blog at
    www.3217fightingthefight.org

  • John Wade-   In January, 2012, John Wade was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma cancer. He has one daughter, Nina, 17, and one son, Clay, 21. He started his chemo-radiation treatment in February. "This whole thing has brought our whole family so much closer. My brother moved in with him. I'm always going to see him, and everyone is always calling him and checking on him." - Nina Wade

  • Shelly Batton is a  stay at home mother of 4.  She has been diagnosed with cancer twice and won the battle both times.  She has been in remission for some time.  Recently, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and has begun treatment once again.  She is a fighter and will continue battling this third time around.  She has an extremely strong will to live.
