Temporary Addition to the Uniform Policy:
Students may wear solid colored denim pants throughout the week as long as they are not any form of blue. Nothing else about the dress code has changed. They still need to have NO HOLES or stains, fit appropriately, etc. NO BLUE JEANS or denim that is blue. This will be on a trial basis for one month. If it goes well and does not impact the academic environment negatively, Mrs. OldenKamp will recommend making it permanent to the school board.

IN THE NEWS:
Vision Charter Talent Extends Beyond the Classroom
Vision Charter students show astounding academic achievement year after year, but they also shine outside the classroom. In the many clubs, classes, and activities offered at the school, students are able to show off their skills in areas beyond the core content.
Over the course of four Saturdays, four students- two from the middle school and two from the high school- competed in the Bogus Basin Snow Team races. Tyler Walters and Matthew Rohrdanz both represented Vision Charter School in the middle school division of these races while Piper Gerdes and Brandon Teeter represented the high school. The final race, Dotty Clark, determined the placing for the season. Piper, in her second year on snow team, and one of few racers touting the badge of having never missed a race, placed third in the novice snowboarding category. Brandon also brought home bronze in the intermediate snowboarding category.
In the warm comforts of the Flying M coffee house, Vision students showed off a different kind of talent. Kylee Cass, Deanna Brockert, Kim Dugan, Aubrey LaBarbera, Catie Callahan, Piper Gerdes, Brandon Teeter, Josh Spencer, Gabe LaMasters, Trent Boguslawski, Tanner Leavitt, Keaton Wright, Karina Lopez, Erin White, Tarynn Henderson, and Lane and Micaela Riley, all students of Mr. George's song writing club and Mr. Leavell's guitar class, performed in front of a packed house, exemplifying the unique talent hidden within the school. Students presented songs they had personally composed and authored as well as songs by their favorite artists. Mr. Leavell and Mr. George have helped these students develop into confident and quite accomplished artists, and their love for music glowed throughout the performance.
Vision Charter School touts high academic standards and achievement, and rightly so; however, there is a level of accomplishment that extends beyond that classroom to be applauded as well. The students of Vision sliced the snow and the guitar strings with class, and these talents just begin to scratch the surface of what lies beyond the classroom walls.
Make a Difference Walk
Vision Charter School is planning a Make a Difference Walk on March 22nd, to increase cancer awareness among our students and community. It will be held in the field behind the school. Students will begin collecting pledges on March 15th for each lap they can complete in one hour. All proceeds are going to Vision families whose lives are currently being impacted by cancer. We appreciate your support as we endeavor to make a difference together!
