The 2011 Halloween Social is coming this FRIDAY!
MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL: October 28th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. *****Parents must sign middle school kids in and out. If they will be traveling home with friends they must have a note.
HIGH SCHOOL SOCIAL: October 28th 7:30-10:00 p.m. *****High school students will be allowed to sign themselves in and out of the social, to get home however they choose. Once a student leaves the social, they will not be allowed back in to the social.
We will feature a scare room, lots of dancing, and refreshments prepared by our own Chef Leavell. The menu offerings include chili, bread, and a variety of beverages. To get in for free, just show your Vision Charter activity card at the door. If you have not purchased an activity card, tickets will be available at lunch (October 24-28) and at the door for $7 each.
Costumes are completely optional, and if you choose to dress up, your costume cannot include blood or any weapons. This fall social is for current VCS students only, so there are no outside guests allowed.

Literary Celebration Guidelines - October 31, 2011
K-5th will be celebrating with activities in their classroom and costumes that depict characters from "Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales, and Fables".
Your child's teacher will communicate specifics of the upcoming celebrations, times, and costume specifics that apply to your child's particular grade level. You are encouraged to check the blog or e-mail the teacher for any specific questions.
6th-11th grade students may wear costumes that depict "Myths, Folktales, Legends, or Fables". Celebrations will occur in the students' advisory period on October 31st. All modesty dress-code standards still apply. Prohibited items include: violent attire, fake blood, real or fake weapons.
**Healthy Options: Some suggestions for healthier party treats: Milk/flavored milk, 100% juice, Fresh fruit assortment, Fruit and cheese kabobs, 100% fruit snacks, Vegetable trays, String cheese/cheese cubes, Pretzels, Low-fat popcorn, Graham crackers, Vanilla wafers, Animal crackers, Angel food cake, Apples with fat-free caramel dip, Yogurt parfaits (yogurt, berries, granola, layered), Yogurt smoothies, Yogurt in a tube (go-gurts), Quesadillas with salsa, Low-fat breakfast or granola bars, Trail mixes, Crackers with cheese, Peanut butter with apples or celery

LOST AND FOUND:
The Lost and Found has moved to the cafeteria. The Lost and Found is just inside the M3 door. Please make sure and sign in and receive a pass prior to going to the Lost and Found. PLEASE place your child's name on the label of his/her jackets, coats, lunchboxes, and sweatshirts. This will allow us to return clothing or belongings to the correct owner prior to donating Lost and Found items.

November 14, 7:00 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center - Musical Theatre will perform "We the People". We will be honoring those currently serving and who have served in our nation's military. Please invite those you know to attend. Individual tickets will be $4, and family tickets will be $10 per family.

PARTNERS WITH A VISION:
Thank you to NNU for paying for our students enrolled in Concurrent College Chemistry and Anatomy and Physiology to attend a day at NNU! The students attended a Chemistry or A & P lab, lecture, and ate lunch on the NNU campus! The students will take another trip back to the campus in the spring.
Thank you to CofI for coming to speak to all 10th and 11th graders about what CofI has to offer in majors, minors, scholarships, and student life. Students also received information about all of the Universities in Idaho.
Thank you to the Middleton Optimist Club, JOOI club, and Caldwell Fireman, Rich Wheaton for supporting VCS in our Jump for JOOI activity! All of our K-11th grade students jumped together for one minute to help break the WOLD RECORD of the most people jumping at any one time!
Thank you to the Lions Club for assisting in the upcoming hearing and vision screenings on November 15. |

PFA CORNER: Schwan's Fundraiser: The packets with ordering forms and fundraising information will be handed out to students Oct. 26. The Orders will need to be turned in with payment on the 8th of November. Pick- up Date for food will be Tuesday November 15, in the Lunch room at Vision from 4-7 pm. This is a great fundraiser and everyone is encouraged to participate. Additional Schwan's products will be available to purchase for pre-holiday shopping at time of pick-up. Students will be provided with personal selling incentives to increase sales such as receiving specific items for selling a particular number of items or amount of sales.
