Greetings! 

 

 

I look forward to seeing all of you this Thursday evening from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at VCS for the Elementary Science Fair and Math Carnival! The PFA will have a silent auction tent. You will be able to purchase VCS shirts for next year and sign up to be a part of the PFA!

Students will be able to play on the bounce house obstacle course at no charge! This is a great opportunity to support VCS and build relationships with other parents.

All 3rd - 6th grade students need to have their science fair projects at the school by the morning of the 19th at the very latest. Please check the classroom blogs for more information.

Please check the Dates to Remember for information about upcoming events the last week of school including 70's/80's Day, Spirit Day, field day, RAD performances, Talent Show, Awards ceremony, Luau, 8th grade graduation, and Early Release the last day of school!

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 Board Meeting in D1 at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 19, 2011  K-10th grade celebration of learning, ISAT scores, and IRI scores. The bounce house/obstacle course and ice cream celebration for all classes will be held throughout the day at VCS!

Thursday, May 19, 2011 K-6th grade Science Fair, Math Carnival, and PFA auction from 5-7 p.m.

Friday, May 20, 2011 70s/80s Spirit Day -  Have a blast from the past!  Dress up in your favorite (school appropriate) 70's or 80's attire! $1 donation will go towards the student government functions.

Saturday, May 21, 2011 DIFFERENCE WALK out on the field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This walk helps raise awareness and money for terminally ill children.

Monday, May 23, 2011 Applications for interested parties to run for one of two positions up for re-election on the VCS Board are due to the office by 4:00 p.m. Applications may be picked up from the VCS office.

Tuesday, May 24, 2011 FIELD DAY! If you would be interested in volunteering please e-mail Mrs. Morretti at vpcedge@yahoo.com. K-5th grade will be starting at 12:30 p.m. and 6th grade will be from 9:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.    Students will most likely get wet!

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 K-6th grade Awards Ceremony and RAD performance at Nampa Civic Center from 9- 11:00 a.m.  

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 7th -10th grade Awards Ceremony and Talent Show from 12:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. on the basketball court.

Thursday, May 26, 2011  6th-10th grade Luau celebration from 8:15 a.m. - noon. Students will participate in fun activities, year book signing, volleyball, water balloon toss, dancing, use the water slide, and have a wonderful celebration! Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Soda, Smoothies, and Pizza will be for sale.

Thursday, May 26, 2011 8th Grade Graduation celebration with food, dancing, and activities at the school from 7-9 p.m. for all current 8th -10th grade students. Current 8th graders are invited to attend their first social as an official high school student!  


Dear Parents,

 

Vision Charter School Student Council is putting on a walk to benefit children with terminal and severe illnesses. All of the money donated will go to the St. Luke's Children's Hospital.

Date: May 21, 2011

Time: 10 am- 2pm

Location: Vision Charter School 19291 Ward Road in Caldwell, Idaho

There will be activities, food, and the fundraising walk

SPRING AUCTION:

The PFA is seeking donations for its Spring silent auction and raffle held on May 19, 2011.  The fundraiser will occur during the math fair and it is our largest annual fundraiser.  If you are able to donate any items or services, we would greatly appreciate it!  A few creative examples might include:  if you clean houses, you can donate time an hour's worth of housekeeping;  if you raise cattle, everyone loves meat;  if you like to cook, maybe dinner for a few days. The possibilities are endless!  

Proceeds will help the PFA: 

·         offer grants to teachers/clubs,

·         support physical education,

·         provide specialty speakers or assemblies,

·         promote  community building among parents, students and staff, and  

·         save for long term school projects.

Donations are tax deductible.


BOARD MEMBERS WANTED 

VISION CHARTER SCHOOL is looking for stakeholders who would be interested in running for a position on the VCS Board of Directors. Two of our Board Member's terms have expired and they are up for re-election this summer. If you or someone you know would be interested in running for a position on the VCS Board, please stop by the office and pick up an application. All applications must be returned to the VCS office by 4 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2011.
