Greetings!
Your children are so amazing! Thank you for trusting us with your greatest treasures. The second week of ISATs has come to a close. We continue to see whole classes of students trying their very best and achieving high above state standards! Class scores are consistently in the 90 to 100% range! One more week until the testing is completed and make-ups begin. Please continue to partner with us in ensuring every child is able to do their very best work! Please ensure your child is getting plenty of sleep, eating a balanced breakfast, and bringing a snack and water bottle to school on testing days.
Please make every effort to have your children to school on time for testing days. Some students take longer than others to complete the test as it is untimed. It is very important to attempt to reschedule any appointments that children may have on testing days. We are unable to stop the test and have children restart it the next day.
We are committed to producing well educated, respectful, citizen leaders! Thank you for being partners with us in this journey! As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns you are encouraged to contact your child's teacher through e-mail which is found on the website. You may also contact me through e-mail at wendyroldenkamp@msn.com or call me on my cell at 919-9636 or at school at 455-9220.

If you are able to donate any items or services, we would greatly appreciate it! A few creative examples might include: if you clean houses, you can donate time an hour's worth of housekeeping; if you raise cattle, everyone loves meat; if you like to cook, maybe dinner for a few days. The possibilities are endless!
Proceeds will help the PFA:
· offer grants to teachers/clubs,
· support physical education,
· provide specialty speakers or assemblies,
· promote community building among parents, students and staff, and
· save for long term school projects.
Please bring any donations the school by Thursday, May 12. Donations are tax deductible.
PFA AND VCS PARTNERS:
The Lions Club, in partnership with the PFA and school, has completed the vision and hearing screening and rescreening for our Kindergarten through Fifth grade students. Letters will be sent to families where a possible concern was found. In this instance, families may wish to consult with their physician or pediatrician to see if further testing may be beneficial. If you do not receive a letter, no concerns were noted.
On behalf of VCS, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Caldwell Lion's Club and the many parent volunteers who made this happen! Your willingness to help, truly makes a difference in the lives of our students!
