Greetings!

Please pass the word along to your friends and family that the VCS 2011-2012 lottery is being held this upcoming Friday, March 18th. Applications may be hand delivered or faxed to 455-9121 through Tuesday, March 15th at 4 p.m. to be included in the lottery.

Informational sessions for families interested in learning about what Vision has to offer are being held this Monday, March 14, 2011 in building D1. Sessions will start at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., or 7:30 p.m.  Snacks will be provided!

LOTTERY: 

Vision Charter School will hold its lottery for enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year beginning at 9:30 a.m. on March 18, 2011. Applications are being accepted right now for the 2011-2012 school year. VCS is a FREE public charter school!

Go to visioncharterschool.net to download an application. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 11th and if hand delivered, no later than 4 p.m. on March 15, 2011.  Applications received after March 15, 2011 will be placed into the pool for the following year.

 

Vision Charter School offers students a small and safe school environment. Its accelerated curriculum is rooted in a classical education and emphasizes character and leadership development, arts and science instruction, gifted and talented curriculum for all students, and music training.  Qualifying students at VCS are offered dual credit classes starting in the ninth grade.

 

This is the time to fill out an application! We are growing! We are adding a doubled sixth grade class and an eleventh grade class!

 

All prospective students, grades Kindergarten through 11th, will be given the opportunity to enroll in the free public charter school, regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, gender, social or economic status, or special needs.

Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast: 

The Nampa Sunrise Rotary is doing a pancake breakfast fund raiser for Vision Charter.  It will be on April 9th  from 8-10a.m. at VCS!  A percentage of the proceeds will be used to pay for R.A.D. (Race Against Drugs) T-shirts and buses for the performance to be shared with other local schools.  This is a very generous and exciting opportunity for our school!  Please invite neighbors and relatives and come enjoy a wonderful breakfast.  Tickets are $5 and may be purchased in the office or from any 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student at Vision Charter School.  Please contact Mrs. Ellis if you would like to help with logistics for this event or donate any paper plate, cups, napkins, or plastic ware.

Individual Spring Pictures Coming Up!  

Individual Pictures Date Change: Individual Pictures for K-6 have been rescheduled for TUESDAY, MARCH 22. Pick your favorite pose, wear your favorite bright colors, and smile! The order forms that previously came home with K-6th are still good to use. The date is the only thing that has changed. 7th-10th graders may have their individual pictures taken as well on this day.  You may pick up an order form in the office.

 

Class pictures for K-6th graders will be taken on Friday, April 8th.  Kindergarteners may also have their individual pictures taken in their graduation cap and gown!


STUDENT GOVERNMENT SAINT PATRICK'S DAY "SPIRIT DAY"!

Thursday, March 17th is a Spirit Day sponsored by the Student Government. Bring a dollar to participate. All proceeds go to help fund Student Government sponsored events. Students MUST WEAR GREEN to be able to wear jeans or be out of dress code. Clothing must still be appropriate and respectful. We are looking forward to seeing green hats, glasses, necklaces, clothes, shoes, socks, etc! 

Calling all future 7-11th graders.......It is time to register for 2011-2012 classes!

Registration forms are coming home on Monday, March 14, 2011. Ask your future 7th-11th grader to show you the class offerings. Registration forms returned by March 23, 2011 will have preference for course selection. All registration packets will be date stamped when they are returned. DRAMA  

VCS Drama Club will be performing two plays in the spring, Tom Sawyer the musical and Mixed-up Fairy Tales.  We are pleased to have the Nampa Civic Center for our performances and will feature one as a matinee and one as an evening show, both on April 12th.


Partners with a Vision!!!!

Student Government would like to send a HUGE thank you to Teena and Aaron Steele for donating eight hours of their time and their supplies to decorate for the Masquerade Ball!  The students loved the decorations and the evening was fantastic! We were so impressed with the way you turned the O'Connor Field House into a magical experience!

Thank you to the Mayor of Caldwell and Caldwell City for donating the use of the O'Connor Field House to the Student Government for the evening of the Masquerade Ball!

Thank you to Elisa Gironda for donating art supplies for VCS students!

Thank you to Boyd Ricks and the Ricks family for donating one case of copy paper!
