In the "Dates to Remember" section of the previous newsletter, the time of the "Destination America!" event on March 8, 2011 was incorrectly advertised -- it will actually be performed at 12:30 p.m.
"Tuesday, March 8, 2011- The 2nd and 3rd grade classes will perform the "Destination America!" at 12:30 p.m. in C2."

CALLING ALL PARENTS OF FUTURE 6th GRADERS!!! We are doubling sixth grade next year. If you have friends who want to get their children into Vision Charter School, this is the time to fill out the application found at visioncharter.net! We are adding 33 new sixth graders next year. Invite your interested friends to call the school at 455-9220 to make an appointment for a tour!

DEBATE AND DANCE CHANGES Due to the Middle and High School Masquerade Ball, the Debate and Dance Teams have been cancelled for Tuesday, March 1st. Debate will resume the following Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 and the Dance Team has been rescheduled for Monday, February 28th, 2011.

LOTTERY:
Vision Charter School will hold its lottery for enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year beginning at 9:30 a.m. on March 18, 2011. Applications are being accepted right now for the 2011-2012 school year. VCS is a FREE public charter school!
Go to visioncharterschool.net to download an application. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 11th and if hand delivered, no later than 4 p.m. on March 15, 2011. Applications received after March 15, 2011 will be placed into the pool for the following year.
Vision Charter School offers students a small and safe school environment. Its accelerated curriculum is rooted in a classical education and emphasizes character and leadership development, arts and science instruction, gifted and talented curriculum for all students, and music training. Qualifying students at VCS are offered dual credit classes starting in the ninth grade.
This is the time to fill out an application! We are growing! We are adding a doubled sixth grade class and an eleventh grade class!
All prospective students, grades Kindergarten through 11th, will be given the opportunity to enroll in the free public charter school, regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, gender, social or economic status, or special needs.

| MASQUERADE BALL
Student Government will be putting on the MASQUERADE BALL for all middle and high school students on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Students are able to bring TWO friends by submitting a "friend application" for approval to Mrs. OldenKamp by February 24, 2011. Applications may be picked up in the office. The cost is $6 or students may show their VCS activity card. Dancing, live music, food, and mask making will take place during the event! The event will be held at the O'Connor Field House in Caldwell. Students are expected to wear semi-formal, formal, costume, or "dress their best". Masks are required or students may make a mask at the door. This will be a wonderful evening of fun!

DRAMA:
VCS Drama Club will be performing two plays in the spring, Tom Sawyer the musical and Mixed-up Fairy Tales. We are pleased to have the Nampa Civic Center for our performances and will feature one as a matinee and one as an evening show, both on April 12th.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011 Spirit Wear orders and payments are due! Orders can be signed for and picked up the week of March 21st.
Tuesday, March 8, 2011- The 2nd and 3rd grade classes will perform the "Destination America!" at 12:30 p.m. in C2.
Wednesday, March 9, 2011 The 2nd and 3rd grade classes will perform the "Destination America!" at 10:00 a.m. in C2. (Parents are invited to attend one of the performances.)
