Greetings!

IN THE EVENT OF SCHOOL CLOSURE: We will place updated information on the website at visioncharterschool.net and send out news via this newsletter. You may also check updates on Channel 2, 12, 6, and 7.

We are aware that many families are traveling a long distance daily to get to VCS.  In the event of snow and ice, we prefer that you and your family come late to school and be safe than rush to avoid a tardy and potentially encounter dangerous traffic situations. Therefore, we will not count your child absent as long as they are at school NO LATER than 11 a.m. daily. Tardies will always be excused during bad weather days. This grace period only applies on bad weather days.  Your safety is our first priority!  (Your child will still be responsible to make up missed work in a timely manner.)
FIELD TRIP TO NNU
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anatomy and Physiology students are taking the class for high school credit and NNU college credit at the same time! Mr. George has arranged a trip to the NNU science lab for our dual enrolled students. They are leaving to NNU tomorrow and are excited to visit the science lab, attend an NNU class, eat lunch at NNU, and see cadavers! This trip to NNU is fully funded by NNU. Vision Charter School is positioned to offer multiple dual credit college classes to our students in tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade! Some of our classes will be through CWI and some through NNU. These classes appear on college transcripts as if they attended the college on campus at NNU or CWI and not as a dual credit course. The cost to the parent is a fraction of the traditional college class fee! ($60-65 per credit). Scholarships are also available. If you would like more information please e-mail Mrs. OldenKamp at wendyroldenkamp@msn.com.  (Some advanced ninth graders may be eligible for college courses upon parent/student request, teacher approval, and administrator recommendation. All students must have a minimum of a 3.0 average to be eligible for any dual credit class.
