Greetings!

Virtues of the Month include Peacefulness and Determination!

"Determination is focusing your energy and efforts on a task and then sticking with it until it is finished. Determination is using your will power to do something when it isn't easy!" - The Virtues Project

"Peacefulness is an inner sense of calm. It comes especially in quiet moments of reflection or gratitude. It is getting very quiet and looking at things so you can understand them. Peacefulness is a way of approaching conflict with others so that no one is made wrong. It is being fair to others and yourself. Peace is giving up the love of power for the power of love. With peacefulness, everyone wins!" - The Virtues Project

CANNED FOOD DRIVE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CANNED FOOD DRIVE is continuing this week!  Food will be given to needy families at VCS. Students may take the canned foods to his/her classroom daily.
We are looking for eight families who need support this holiday season with food.
If you or your spouse has been laid off or lost your job and your family is struggling to make ends meet, please notify Mrs. OldenKamp at
wendyroldenkamp@msn.com. Your request for support will be kept confidential.
LICE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tis the season! Please review with your children the importance of not sharing sweatshirts, coats, brushes, hats, or scarves with other children. We have had three students this year who have had lice. Please check your child periodically to ensure hair is free from any critters hitching a ride. If you would like Mrs. OldenKamp to discreetly check your child's hair in private, please send the request to wendyroldenkamp@msn.com. Please review our board policy regarding lice listed below.

**Vision Charter School will exclude all students who are found to have head lice, including the presence of nits (eggs). If nits or live lice are still present, the child will be sent home and will not be readmitted until all evidence of head lice is absent. A parent must accompany the child upon his/her return to school. A form stating the remedy used, dates treated, and parent signature must be submitted at this time. Children should be back in school as soon as possible after treatment.
