PSAT NEWS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 20 students participated in the PSAT this past Saturday at VCS. Score reports and test booklets will be returned to the students in mid December. |
STUDENT LED CONFERENCES / TITLE 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PARENTS AND STUDENTS are invited to attend the Parent/Teacher Conferences based on the schedule listed below. Elementary K-6th Wednesday, October 27 5-8pm Parent/Teacher scheduled conferences Thursday, October 28th 8-noon or 2-7 drop in student led conferences 7th-10th grade Wednesday, October 27 5-8pm Student Led Conferences Thursday, October 28 8am-12 and 2-7pm Parent/Teacher Scheduled Conferences **You will be contacted by Monday, October 25th if will need to attend a scheduled parent/teacher conference. These individual conferences are only for students struggling academically or behaviorally. All other students will be participating in the drop-in student led conferences. All parents of Title 1 students are invited to attend the Title 1 Meetings in C1 on the following dates and times: Wednesday, October 27 at 6 and again at 7pm Thursday, October 28th at 7pm Parents will learn about ways to partner with VCS and to assist their child with academics. Parents will have an opportunity to review the draft Parent/Student Compact and Parent Involvement Policy. If you are handicapped and need special assistance in order to attend this planning meeting, VCS will assist you with a reasonable accommodation. A Fun, Fantastic, Fall Festival, performed by kindergarten and 1st grade: Nov. 2 at 11:30 in the music room Nov. 3 at 1:00 in the music room Please plan on attending only one performance in order to give all who want to attend the opportunity to have a seat. Older siblings wishing to watch may be checked out by parents for the program and then checked back in to school after the program. We look forward to seeing you there.
Come join the celebration on NOV 5th as VCS students celebrate the classic novel, Wind in the Willows. Students are invited to dress as a character from the book to culminate the study of this novel. Watch for additional information from your child's classroom teacher. You are encouraged to read the book at home as a family in the month of October.
November 18th, THE SCIENCE FAIR HAS BEEN MOVED.Tentativally, MS/HS will be in February and Elementary will be in May. More details will be sent out soon.

DANCE! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Information about the upcoming K-3rd and 4th-6th grade dance clubs directed by Mrs. Huckins were sent home with your children this past Friday. Positions are held with a $35 check written out to Mrs. Huckins. Spots are filled on a first come first serve basis. Classes are held once a week for eleven weeks. Please contact the office if you need another informational letter outlining specifics of the class.
Middle and High School dance team information will be sent home in the near future. |

Thank you to the Haskell family for their time and energy donated to help in getting the volleyball court ready to go!
