join the fun at the Middle and High School Harvest Festival on October
21st from 7-9pm at VCS! Students will enjoy dinner, dessert, dancing,
Wii, Capture the Flag, volleyball, and much more! Show your activity
card or pay $6 at the door.

DRIVERS ED
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Driver's Education will be provided by Street Smart Driving School.
This session starts Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 3:10-5:30pm. If
your child is signed up for this class, please ask your child for the
informational sheet or call the office to receive another form.

COMBO DAY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On October 21st bring a dollar to participate in COMBO DAY! On Combo
Day you may have Crazy Hair, be a TWIN, or wear your clothes backwards,
or DO IT ALL! Come and join the fun to help raise money for Student
Government! If you do not participate you may pay a dollar to wear
jeans or just wear your regular dress code for no cost.

PSAT NEWS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Students who have registered and paid for the PSAT test
will need to be at the school in room I1 by 9am Saturday, October 16,
2010. Parents may pick students up at the office at noon. Students need
to bring a number two pencil with an eraser, are encouraged to bring a
scientific or graphing calculator, an e-mail address (optional), and
a social security number (optional). Student Guides will be
going home on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 with students registered to
take the PSAT this Saturday. No more spots for this PSAT are available.

STUDENT LED CONFERENCES / TITLE 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ K-6th grade Student Led Conferences will be held Wednesday,
October 27th from 3:30-5pm and 5:30-7pm on a drop in basis. Parents may
prefer to drop in for Student Led Conferences from 8-noon, 1pm-5pm or
6-8pm on Thursday, October 28th. Please expect to spend a minimum of
fifteen minutes in each classroom with each child. Middle and
High School Parents are invited to drop in with their child to STUDENT
LED CONFERENCES Wednesday, October 27th from 3:30-5pm or
5:30-7pm. Parents of students with D's or F's in any of the CORE
classes will be contacted Monday, October 25th to schedule a teacher
led conference for Thursday, October 28th. If you are in need of a
teacher led conference, please contact Mrs. OldenKamp at wendryoldenkamp@msn.com prior to noon on Monday, October 25th so that we may prepare the schedule.
Title 1 Informational Sessions will be at 6pm and 7pm on Wednesday, October 27th
and at 7pm on Thursday, October 28, 2010 in building E. Please select
one of these meetings to attend and receive additional information
about the program and how you may partner with VCS to ensure your
child's success! If you are handicapped and need special assistance in
order to attend this planning meeting, VCS will assist you with a

DATES TO REMEMBER

A Fun, Fantastic, Fall Festival, performed by kindergarten and 1st grade: Nov. 2 at 11:30 in the music room Nov. 3 at 1:00 in the music room Please
plan on attending only one performance in order to give all who want to
attend the opportunity to have a seat. Older siblings wishing to watch
may be checked out by parents for the program and then checked back in
to school after the program. We look forward to seeing you there. The
date is different than was earlier announced. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused.
Come join the celebration on NOV 5th as VCS students celebrate the classic novel, Wind in the Willows.
Students are invited to dress as a character from the book to culminate
the study of this novel. Watch for additional information from your
child's classroom teacher. You are encouraged to read the book at
home as a family in the month of October. YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND the whole school Christmas Program December 15th at 7pm at Sage Valley School Auditorium.
