PSAT : MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL
Greetings!

The first three weeks of school have been fabulous! Thank you for your patience as all of our families have learned the procedures for before and after school pick up and drop off. I am pleased to inform you that the entire line is taking less than fifteen minutes from the first person loaded to the last person loaded. We are completed at 3:21pm most days! This is due to the exceptional staff, students, and parents working together to expedite the process and keep it safe for all!

Thank you to each of you and your families for making this the best school ever!

Mrs. OldenKamp

Safety Reminders

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
·         Please do not pull a u-turn in front of the school for any reason. We have parents pulling u turns who are coming very close to students walking to school or crossing the entrance to the subdivision. If you must make a change to the direction you are driving, please go up to SkyWay Drive and turn around in the dead end road. Your time is valuable to us, however, the safety of all children is the highest priority.
·         Students may walk home from school provided you send a hand written and signed note. All children should walk up to the road on the sidewalk past the school sign and then travel down Ward Road. Please request any alternative walking pattern in writing.
·         To increase student safety, please sign in at the office and pick up a visitor pass prior to entering the playground area or corridor area for any reason. This includes after school or in the morning.
·         If your child has left their backpack or lunch at home and it needs to be delivered, please drop it off at the office and the secretaries will happily deliver the item. This is to protect the learning environment and decrease disruptions to the educational process.
DRIVER'S EDUCATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please call the school to get your child's name on the wait list for Driver's Ed. Students must be 14 ½ to start the class. Once we have ten on the list, a class will be scheduled. Only students from Vision Charter School will be eligible to participate. Thank you!

PSATs
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Parents of Middle and High School Students,
Vision Charter School will be offering the Pre SAT (PSAT) test to all seventh through tenth grade students who are interested. Parents must send in a check written to Vision Charter School for $13 and the word PSAT in the memo line by Friday, September 10, 2010.  This fee only covers the cost of the test. I will donate my Saturday to administer the test so that families do not have any more cost associated with this opportunity. The test will be offered only on Saturday, October 16, 2010.
Students interested in the National Merit Scholarship will be eligible to receive the scholarship in October of their Junior year by earning qualifying semifinalist or finalist scores on the PSAT. Families interested in preparing their students for the PSAT and SAT should register at Collegboard.com to have practice SAT test questions sent directly to your child's e-mail account. This website also has a wealth of information for students who are serious about going on to college!
