Vision Charter School Newsletter May 2010 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
|
We have some exciting news!
Vision Charter School has CLOSED on our land. Yes, it is true! WE OWN LAND! We
purchased twenty-two acres of land a month ago for $209,000 and paid cash for
the land. We are preparing to move our portables to the new land this summer.
The land is located across Highway 20-26 on Ward Lane just before you get to
Linden when heading south on Ward. The property we purchased is on the west
side of the road just after Copper Creek Subdivision. The search for land has been a long and difficult search over the past four
years. We are pleased to announce that this land is a fabulous investment for
the school and the price was perfect!

Dates To Remember
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please turn in your CHOICE
CONTEST entries and end of the year surveys by May 25, 2010 to your child's
classroom teacher or the office.
Tuesday, May 25, 2010 the Kindergarten
"Three Piggy Opera" will be presented from 6-7pm in C1.
Thursday, May 27, 2010
10:15-10:30 Kindergarten through ninth grade students
will join together at the basketball court for a "whole school photo" and to
watch the pie smashing event of the year! Mr. George, Mrs. Wafwa, Mr. Banning,
and Mrs. OldenKamp will take one in the face for science!
11:30-3pm 6th-9th
students will enjoy a Hawaiian Luau VCS style! Students will be able to
participate in many activities, competitions, a dance, barbeque, dessert, and
lots of fun to celebrate the end of the 2009-2010 school year! Please watch for
additional information to come home regarding events and what to wear! I hear
students will need sunscreen, a towel, and change of clothes! WORK NIGHT AT VCS!
We are looking for volunteers
who would be willing to come to VCS from 6pm - 9pm on June 3, 2010 to take off
all of the skirting around the bottom of the portables. This is a huge job and
we will need lots of helpers to make this happen.
It will save the school a ton
of money if we could put our collective muscles together and take down the
skirting. If you have pry bars, hammers, saws alls, skill saws or other useful
tools, please bring them for the work night. Please understand that all
volunteers will be working at their own risk. This would be a great evening to
bring your teenagers to volunteer their energy, time, and service to the
school.
