Felt So Good
Felt So Good
This exhibit continues until Nov 5th.  Don't miss it!

It's late and I've just completed a most satisfying task of pulling together all the acceptance letters for Handmade Holidays 2  We have close to 40 artisans participating this year with a very interesting variety of work.  Holiday shopping will be fabulous and varied.  But we'll share more of that later.

Saturday was a fun day.  The Shibori saturday sampler was so enjoyed, students signed up for Shibori Techniques in two weeks and were eager to learn more about the Spring 2 day workshop being held at STL.

Some students from MHS along with their teacher Kachina Martin and Melanie, used the open studio time to do warp some frame looms.  It looked like fun.  I slipped out early to go watch the Phildadelphia Union game (doop), so I missed out on some of the fun.

Saturday -October 22nd - We have two Saturday Samplers to choose from being led by two wonderfully talented artists.

Pine Needle OrnamentDebra Hammond teaches Pine Needle Ornaments.  Debra is a wonderfully talented basket weaver.  We'll have some of her work for sale over the holidays.

Linda Doucette will teach needle felting.  It looks like a lot fun.  Linda has work in our gallery at the moment.  You can see this beautiful Stargazer Lilly in person (see below)  if you stop in.   Trust me the picture doesn't do it justice.

Now to be fair, you will be learning to felt one of these adorable critters, but who knows?  You may start yourself down on a path of a brand new obsession.

Open Studio is from 1:00 to 3:00 every Saturday and you are welcome to come here, meet your friends, bring your hand work and bask in this creative environment.  The back patio should find a few more warm sunny afternoons, bring a bag lunch too.

Ok enough from me. Take a glance at all the fun stuff that's going on at STL.  Help us spread the word by sharing our newsletter on your social networks or with others who might enjoy it.

Come on over to 526 washington street and pay us a visit. Wander through the gallery and boutique or perhaps sample a fiber technique that you always wanted to try.

We love visitors,
Rebekah

One of Pennsylvania's longest running craft shows which premiered in 1949, it is being held at Keystone Hall on the campus of Kutztown University at South Campus Drive and Baldy Street, just off Route 222 in partnership with Kutztown University and the PA German Cultural Heritage Center.

The show offers museum quality examples of contemporary and traditional Pennsylvania folk artwork produced by more than 100 artisans who are members of the Reading-Berks Chapter.

Several genres or crafts and fine art are represented--
