Square Knot Beads

 

Macrame isn't just for plant hangers, friendship bracelets, or large hammocks anymore!   Using a basic knot, we'll make lovely beads that can be used in handmade jewelry.  Students will use various types of thread to knot around a wire core to create their beads.

Shibori is an ancient Japanese dying process that uses twisting, stitching, pulling, and binding of fabric to create texture and pattern with color.

In this Saturday Sampler, we'll use stamps, roller, paint brushes, sponge brushes, etc to apply  cotton print cloth with thickened Procion MX Dye.

Kumihimo Braid
kumihimo
Kumihimo is a method of braiding silk threads developed in Japan.
  
Modern crafters create kumihimo braids out of many different fibers besides silk and the braids are made into jewelry, hatbands, belts or decorative knotting and embellishments.
